Ljunkan (530) - SWEDEN - APR 29, 2009
Bottle at Bishops Arms, Karlstad. Pours an amber color with a white head. Nice caramely malty aroma with notes of dried fruits. Flavour is a bit sweet with notes of caramel and some light hops in the background. Somewhat lightbodied in the mouth but pretty smooth. Very drinkable but not exciting. Fun to try an Icelandic brew though, I only wish it was their imperial stout ...

This is the first "unique" Icelandic brew for me.. This is not my dish... but for some, perhaps. I want more complexity .

Bottled. A nutbrown beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of nuts and some caramel. The flavor is sweet is with notes of nuts, malt, metal, and caramel, as weel as just a touch of licorice, leading to a dry metallic finish, where a bit of sweetness lingers.
