This is the first "unique" Icelandic brew for me.. This is not my dish... but for some, perhaps. I want more complexity .

500ml bottle from Reykjavik. Shared at Rating Session 22.06.11 Pours a dark red/dark clear amber and a big foamy head. Very pleasant aroma of orang, malt, hops and herbs. Nutty, roasted coffee and some yeast, anise, cookie and citrus.

A great red ale from Ölvisholt Brugghús. It will be interesting to taste the beer on tab, but until now it has only be available in bottles. Really tasty well-bodied ale.

By far the best beer in Iceland. An interesting mix of English Ale and Cascade hops

The color is red/brown with a small head, Aroma inlcudes: hops, malt, hops, lemon and hops. the flavor is medium bitter ale, malt with lemon,(lime?) hints in the background in my opinion their best beer so far.

What a decent ale. The best and most flavorful Icelandic beer so far! I have been looking forward to this one. Small head, nice and hoppy aroma, medium bitterness and nicely malted. Medium filling and long lasting finish. Congratulations to Ölvisholt! The only brewer in Iceland (so far) who has the guts to be a bit creative.

Some good fruitnotes that turn in to hints of coffee with a nice long aftertaste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
