continuing the cheap beer trip. it’s been a heck of a trip so far. this time i’m going for Olympia, where they blame it on the water. I have bad memories about this one growing up. was really hard for me to pick this up and try it again. pour is actually pretty nice yellow color, nice head, lasting film of bubbles and more than expected lacing. Miller has a variety of these cheap beers. The can says pabst, so i’m wondering why they have PBR in the fridge but not this one. i don’t like PBR much. first sip is pretty thin. actually almost pleasant taste to this one. little candy sweetness and well blended with whatever hops are in here. nice balance. i don’t really mind this stuff, maybe just a tad too sweet, but overall an easy drinker and a price you can’t really beat. Not mad at this one. about 8 more cans to go and i’ll see u at work!

Put a few of these down in Seattle when I was there on a trip. This could really use a bit more on the hops.

A tall boy orange can. Poured a big, foamy head... a bit too much. The body is clear, golden with lots of bubbles coming up. The aroma is grain and metal, but less metallic than most for this style. Well, it’s vying for most tasteless beer. Watery through and through with the mildest bitterness. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. I’m not sure there’s actually anything in it.

Aroma is sweetish malts and citrus. The flavor is sweetish malts, citrus and a mix of tart and tangy in the finish.

12 oz. can from jmborggren. Pours a clear golden color with a large fluffy white head that disappears quickly and leaves some web-like lacing on the glass. The aroma has sweet grainy malts, some corn notes with not much else. Flavor has much of the same with some light metallic notes and a weaker finish. It is what it is.

Can, given to me by my General Manager at work, then subsequently dropped from my bicycle numerous times on the way home... somehow surviving the harrowing journey to be consumed by yours truly.... You’ve come a long way Can of Olympia!

Pours a pale golden color with a small tight white head.

The aroma is crisp, very light.... metallic but fairly clean.

The flavor is sweet almost like an eastern european breakfast cereal beer, but not even close to that level of disgusting. There is certainly a crispness to the beer and a decent hop bitterness.

I’d pretty well drink this about any time.

Can to snifter (thanks jmborggren). Looks fine; a transparent gold with white head that quickly dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes cheap and skunky with a little bitterness and an average (at best) mouthfeel. Tickers gotta tick!
