3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hayduke (2938) - Eureka, California, USA - MAR 20, 2012The 22 oz bottle was courtesy of Strykzone. Pours almost black with a medium sized tan head that left light lacing. Nose of roasted malts with cocoa, some charcoal, and fruit. Medium in body but thin in mouthfeel. Flavor is roasted malts with coffee, chocolate, and fruit. Finish has a little bitterness but is somehow thin for a stout.

Poured from bottle into pint glass. Pours opaque brown/black with good light-brown head. Head all but diminishes; laces ok. Nice toasted malty smell with hints of caramel and dark chocolate. Flavor carries through but not as strong as it smells. Not very sweet flavor - has a bit of a burnt charcoal flavor. Finishes slightly bitter and acidic. Body is watery for such a dark brew with light carbonation and slight alcoholic feel. It’s good, but there are much better stouts out there.

Bottle. Pours a black color with tan head. Roasty sweet, charcoal aromas. Dry, roasty flavors. Light bodied for a stout. Alright.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 AlanRyker (44) - - FEB 14, 2013
This stout pours black with a quickly-dissolving head. It has a great roasted flavor, with, for me, just the right balance between sweet and bitter. But it’s way too thin. I want that same balance, but with more sweetness and more bitterness and a rounder mouthfeel..
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jeremyh70 (358) - Missouri, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Pours an opaque almost black with a finger of head and ok lacing. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Semi-sweet dark chocolate and roasty notes with appropriate bitterness. Crisp and thin mouthfeel. Too much so for the style. Average stout, had much better.

Aroma is an inviting combination of roasted coffee & chocolate. It pours a thick black with virtually no head. A definite coffee taste with a subtle caramel hints. The palate does leave a slight alcoholic residue. Overall very impressive!

Not a giant fan of this one. An attractive, dark beer, but the licorice aroma and stale coffee flavor were overpowering. Not smooth the way I expect my dry stouts to be. Bought this for Rebecca’s Posada in 2012.

Bottle. Delicious. Smooth and lighter in body than you would expect, and not nearly as bitter as it looks. beautiful black body and a medium brown head that dissipates fairly quickly to a thin head film. Wonderful Experience and a delightful stout.
