I like dunkel, but not a huge fan of this one. Good enough to drink, just not good enough to savor.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 crossovert (4525) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 11, 2011
650ml bottle. Bottled on 11.10.11.
It pours a nice deep brownish copper with a fluffy off-white head.
The smell is hop-forward. Not what I was expecting but interesting. It is really flowery with some sweet dough in the background and a hint of cocoa.
The flavor leans towards both the hops and the sweetness. This brewery seems to like a decent amount of sweetness. It is pretty tried and true though, a solid dunkel.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 freekyp (1409) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - DEC 6, 2011
A finely crafted but ultimately boring dunkel. Pours a light brown with a fleeting head. Some lacing. Aroma shows some caramel, noble hops and a hint of cocoa. Flavor is much the same. Even keeled and balanced with a bit of a rise in bitterness at the finish. A match for most lunch and dinner fare.
