2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A finely crafted but ultimately boring dunkel. Pours a light brown with a fleeting head. Some lacing. Aroma shows some caramel, noble hops and a hint of cocoa. Flavor is much the same. Even keeled and balanced with a bit of a rise in bitterness at the finish. A match for most lunch and dinner fare.

Draft at the brewery. Really enjoyed this one. Another well-balanced, authentic german brew that you can drink all day. I attempted to but had to stop so I could drive home.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle. Dark brown color with a medium, bubbly, tan head that dissipates quickly to nothing. Light coffee aroma, with some brown sugar, cinnamon, and some rye. Very sweet and malty, with some very light earthy, hop bitterness in the finish. Medium to heavy body, chalky, and sticky. Overall, this is a nicely balanced, simple, but tasty beer.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap, pours a translucent brown with no head. Very little aroma, and not too strong on flavors. Notes of brown sugar and caramel malt, otherwise rather bland. Not bad, but nothing to rush out and try.

I like dunkel, but not a huge fan of this one. Good enough to drink, just not good enough to savor.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Charlotte. Brown with a slight off-white head that dissipated pretty quickly. Sweet taste - some caramel came through in particular. Easy drinking and by no means bad, but pretty unremarkable.
