3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Flying Saucer in Charlotte. Brown with a slight off-white head that dissipated pretty quickly. Sweet taste - some caramel came through in particular. Easy drinking and by no means bad, but pretty unremarkable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Maxwell’s. Orange colored pour with a white head. Malty, sweet caramel nose; taste is similar but a bit more refreshing. Pretty good beer, and I am not really a fan of dunkels. Would drink this again, not too bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear, bright amber-gold with a creamy, tan cap. Tasty, well rounded. Some toffee and toasted bread on the nose. Light-medium sweet with bready malts, faint leafy bitterness and toasty caramel. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Moderate sweetness at the end with dry and toasted caramel, light doughy bread. Tasty though fairly elementary.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a sharp and clean reddish burnt brown with two fingers of tight sandy tan head. Nose is earthy with cracker-ish malt notes and a light grassy sweetness. Flavor shows bready malt with a light herbal/earthy balance and slightly metallic bitterness. Medium light body and pretty refreshing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle... Clear, deep copper lager with a small creamy off-white head. Decent retention. I had a hard time pulling any aromatics from my glass for a good while, but I was finally able to hunt down some malty and toasty notes accompanied by buttery toffee. Medium-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor is a mish-mash of buttery toffee, caramel, minerals and earthy hops. It’s balanced quite well. Short, lightly bitter finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. bottle. Dark brown color with a medium, bubbly, tan head that dissipates quickly to nothing. Light coffee aroma, with some brown sugar, cinnamon, and some rye. Very sweet and malty, with some very light earthy, hop bitterness in the finish. Medium to heavy body, chalky, and sticky. Overall, this is a nicely balanced, simple, but tasty beer.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I like dunkel, but not a huge fan of this one. Good enough to drink, just not good enough to savor.
