COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The quintessential Ueberseasonal. Everybody gets excited when the leaves change color and the nights get cooler. Not because it’s fall...the real reason is that they know Mecktoberfest is coming.

Appearance: Dispensed a clear, darkened amber-gold body with a spumed, off-white head. Smell: Toasted whole-grain bread and a fragrance of spicy noble German hops above some lighter crackery tones and far-off traces of sweet-scented caramel. Taste: Maltiness of moderately toasted bread given a touch of sweet caramel, maybe even a hint of honey as well. Spicy, floral German hops, lightly bitter and more than enough to balance things out. Soft, faint fruitiness. Drying finish with a delicate mix of spicy hops and maltiness. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Very drinkable. A clean, satisfying O-fest. Keep up the good German work, OMB.

Pint at CLT airport. Clear topaz with a small ring of bubbles. Nose is at first sour, then lightly toasted grain and caramel. Taste is sweet toasted grain and just a touch of dry grass and sour apple. Light body is well balanced and has light carbonation.

Draught at the airport. Pours a lighter amber color with a moderate white head. Some grains and maltiness to the nose of this, with both some of the malty bitterness and a hint of sweetness to the taste.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber orange with a thick white head. Aroma of bready malts and sweet malts. Flavor is mostly bready malts, some sweet fruits, and a little hop bitterness. Overall a pretty good Oktoberfest. 7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5)

1/2 pint Kolsch type glass at the tasting room at the Brewery. Pour is a lighter amber golden with a dirty white head the falls with nice lacing. Aroma is nutty, cooking caramel, and a bit of chemical cleaner. Sort of ok to start, but smelled a bit off in the back. As it warmed, even got some garlic. Taste is the malt up front - nice nutty mild sweetness, then it turns towards sort of a soapy chemical sweetness that fortunately clears a touch as it opens up. Palate is medium to light bodied, sort of silky texture with an unpleasant chemical sweet aftertaste.

On tap at Maxwell’s Tavern. Pours out a dark orange color with a white head on it. Smell is malty and rich with a little bit of hop presence. Taste sweet and fairly smooth. Easy to drink and kind of sweet. Went well with the burger, but I dont think I could drink more than one of these.

Had this beer at the brewery taproom on 9/23/10. Reviewed from notes. Poured into a giant mug. Came out a very clear copper/amber color with a large 3-finger creamy off-white head. Light lace stuck behind. Nose of toffee, caramel, light hops. Pretty average. What it lacked in the nose, it made up for in flavor! Semi-sweet candied malts. Notes of toffee, bread, and lightly oily hops on the finish. Excellent aftertaste. Good carbonation level. Easily drinkable. Had I not had to drive home, I would have had another mug, as the first mug was gone before I knew it. Recommend.

Bottle. Dark golden with ample foamy head. Smells toasty and lightly sour. Very malty but not overly cloying. Malt flavor hangs on.
