COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rein Pale Ale (RPA) - The Rein Pale Ale (RPA) is a cross between an American-style pale ale and a German-style lagered ale. This distinctive ale is brewed with a combination of four different American and German barley malt varieties, spicy American Tettnang and noble Czech Saaz hops. A beautiful light amber color, this moderately bitter pale ale is an enjoyable selection for almost any occasion. And like all OMB beers our RPA is brewed in strict accordance with the world famous German Reinheitsgebot beer purity law of 1516. That means it’s all natural, with no chemicals, preservatives or cheap adjunct ingredients. Malt, hops, water and yeast. Nothing else. Taste the difference! 5.2% ABV, 36 IBU, 6 SRM.

Pours out a slight orange golden color with a small head. Mild aroma of just a hint of hops and a touch of sweetness. Hops were mostly that dank musky smell that I think of Saaz hops having. Upon sipping the beer is slighly sweet of caramel but then finishes lightly spicy and bitter. This was an ok pale ale, I would have liked the finish to be a bit cleaner.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sour caramel and rye front to back.

Slight aroma. Nice amber appearance but thin head. Delicate hop flavors with light bitterness. Enjoyable but not exceptionable.

The brewmaster sent me the information on this new beer from OMB. On a trip to Columbia, SC we stopped in for a beer. The brewery was full of people for a home brew tasting in the morning and the European Cup in the afternoon. The golden colored ale had a small head and floral aroma. This is good ale. OMB is fun place to drink. This beer had a medium body with average carbonation. There was a slight bitterness at the finish.
