COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Omission IPA is a bright, hop forward Northwest Style IPA produced in the spirit of the original IPAs shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800ís. The heavy-handed use of Cascade and Summit hops give it notable pine, citrus, and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The bitterness is what you would expect of a NW IPA but this beer is balanced and smooth due to the perfect level of malt sweetness. The finish is crisp, clean, and refreshing Ė itís a true IPA loverís IPA.

Best GF beer I've had - indistinguishable from regular beer. Good, fresh citrusy and dank hops on the nose. Taste follows. Good hop flavor. Significant bitterness, but balanced. Mostly caramel malt.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. As with the other Omission brews, quite good for supposedly being gluten-free (although that fact is technically unknown)...thereís no way in hell I would guess this is a GF beer from aroma/flavor, but of course thatís largely because barley *is* used. And once again, amusingly better than most of Widmerís regular beers.

Bright but hazy golden color. White head lasts. Aroma is extreme citrus... tangelo, kumquat and whatnot. Taste is soapy, bitter citrus. Pretty much its awesome esp. for being gluten free.

Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear copper with medium sized white head, plenty of glass carbonation, and decent retention. The aroma is mostly citrus and a little acid based. There is some light pine and floral notes thrown in. The taste is medium bitter, has a nice citrus balance, and a lingering bitter finish. I think people here are a little biased on the gluten free because this is an acceptable IPA in my opinion.

Low retention and decent lacing. Smells of slight hops and sweet malt. Tastes kind of stale-like with some malt and a little hop background. Don't like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Poured a golden color with white head. Aroma is light hops. Taste is fruity and malts.

Bottle. American hop-forward nose, Cascade / Centennial pine resin and orange rind and orange jellies and such. Syrupy body, sweet honey malt leaves an oily texture on the tongue. Sharply bitter and pine-heavy. Clean fermentation but strangely filmy / slick texture. One-dimentional hop-driven sweet IPA but certainly more flavorful than any GF beer Iíve had before.

Bottle. Sweet aroma with some hop evident. Mostly clear amber body with cascading bubbles and a lasting white head. Nice lace. Nice hop profile. If I didnít know it lacked gluten I might not notice that it has some thinness, which may be due to the lack of gluten. Not being an expert in such matters. Not bad at all.

bhensonb (11512) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 28, 2013
Bottle from Whole Foods in Folsom, CA. Pours amber gold with a slight white head. Nice hop aroma. Seems citrus. Med body. Nice hop burn. Lots of citrus/resin. Lots. Backbone seems lightly malty. Which is not literally possible. But this is likely to be the best gluten free thus far. Not a lot of support for the hops, but it works.

Beerenberger (1538) - Fischer, Texas, USA - AUG 27, 2013
Aroma of grapefruit. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a thin, mostly diminishing, white head and no lacing. The taste is mildly bitter. Grapefruit, pine, some resin notes, bread. Medium body with medium crisp carbonation. Overall, a very drinkable, not over the top, IPA. Full disclosure: had I realized this was a glutton free beer, I probably wouldnít have bought it in the first place. Would have been my loss.
