Ughsmash (7005) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up lightly-toasty corn and pale malts with light, dank hop accents. The flavor found corn, honey, and odd grain (sorghum?) with sharp lemon zest and odd bitterness around.. finished lemony and quasi-refreshing. Light-bodied with an ok flow through the palate.

Bottled on Nov/06/13. (K-Citymarket) Kouvola, Finland.

Ernest (6031) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 28, 2012
Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cereal), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with light notes of DMS and soap. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. I really dreaded trying this because...well...for one, itís Widmer. Secondly, itís a gluten-free beer, and gluten-free beers almost always suck. Hard. But just as Redbridge is surprisingly one of the more passable GF examples (from an even worse brewery), this beer is better than the bulk of its brethren. Itís toasty, itís hoppy, itís flaws are minor, and itís...believe it or not...drinkable. In fact, if you didnít tell me it was GF, I probably wouldnít even know. No, itís not going to compete with good lagers out there...this is basically on the level of Full Sail Session Lager or something like that, but still...good grief, you can do a LOT, LOT worse in this field (Sprecher Shakparo, anyone???). If I had to go GF, I would have no problem having one of these once in awhile (when I wasnít drinking wine instead). The Omission website says these brews may contain gluten, since they *are* brewed with barley and such. So...ummm....hmmm.

5000 (6027) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Bottle:   Straw in color, rather clear, thin to moderate white head, sudsy, little lacing.   Macro beer aroma, corny, rice, the stuff I taste when I vomit out my nose.   Sweet grassy/grainy malt forward nose.   Very much a grassy/straw/hay like beer.   Its a clean beer alright, straw and hay/grass on the finish.   If I had a gluten issue, this would be a decent brew to drink, unoffensive, not too bold in any one direction.   However, if I had to drink this more than a few times I would be livid!

Bottle, clear gold with egg white foam, light musky hops aroma and flavors, some mild bitterness, malt liquor finish. Reminds me of a weak NB Shift

6/6/12. 12oz bottle shared by our rep. Clear golden pour with basically no head. Horrifying aroma of band aids and burnt tires... man. Equally terrible flavor with burnt tires, plastic, and a bit of hay. Terrible.
