COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In honor of both its independence and its signature Tripel style, this Belgian style ale brewed with Belgian candi surgar and a combination of Ommegang, Duvel and Chouffe yeasts. A tripel, if you will. The unsung hero of brewing, the yeast strand dramatically influences the flavor and aroma profile of a beer. Three yeasts join here together to forge one remarkable brew.

Pours a golden yellow with a big white head. The aroma is filled with Belgian candi sugar and a touch of earthy hops. On tha palate it's really sweet. Not too bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this at Blind Tiger on 02/13/2013 with Andy and James (I think). Don’t have much in the way of notes - main impressions were that it was Belgiany yeasty and had some wheat flavor, but I was not a huge fan. Not bad, but kind of boring.

Sampled at UCBC Wolpertinger 2013 - Pours hazy yellow orange with a white head. The aroma is very bready, raw dough, rich and malty. It has a medium / full rich body with soft carbonation. The taste is like the aroma, but adds spice and banana. The finish is spicy and has a ton of yeastiness. Okay tripel.

Tap @ Black Bottle Fort Collins. Pours a clear golden orange appearance with an off white head. Herbal, kind of chewy woody, somewhat spicy bready yeasty, strange herbal aroma. Slightly candy flavored with a bit of caramel and toffee along with some herbal and grassy notes. Not a huge fan.

Draft at the tiger with Andrew and Brendan. Pours a hazy golden amber orange body with thin carbonated lacing. Aroma is Belgian candy, yeast, spice and malt. Mouthfeel is medium and well carbonated with notes of Belgian candy, sweet fruity malts and lots of spice. Not a big fan of this one.

Keg at The Blind Tiger, NYC. Pours cloudy orange with a fine, creamy cap. Lots of bready malts in the nose, with hints of yeast and caramel. Medium to big sweet flavor with heavy, heavy doughy bread, yeast, candi sugar, caramel, a bit of overripe orange. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with some sticky sugars, more doughy bread and caramel, yeast. Quite sweet (it is a tripel, after all) and quite bready, but not as cloying as many of its peers and, overall, pretty drinkable.

5,4,6,4,13 Sampled on tap at the 2nd annual Urban Chestnut Wolpertinger party in a dimple mug. It poured a cloudy, orangish-amber color with lasting white foam and lace. Very nice appearance. Strong Belgian yeast aromas: black pepper, clove, banana, as well as some unpleasant fusel alcohols. Enjoyable banana flavour as well, plus faintly tangy noble hops and the typical grainy and slightly caramelly tripel tastes. Fairly harsh alcohol, overall impression wasn’t smooth at all. Nowhere near as tasty as I’d hoped, unfortunately.

On tap at Captiol Beer, Sacramento. Pours blonde with a nice off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a sweet caramel malt and candi sugar flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Pretty well-balanced and tasty.

Delicious tasty beer. Doesn’t show the alcohol. Sweet with mild grain. Really pleasant.
