2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 redlem (1264) - Ohio, USA - FEB 15, 2003
Pours a deep ruby color with a big creamy light tan head. The tiny bubbles just keep rising up from the bottom of the glass, I could look at this all day. Initially, aroma is mainly apples that is taken over by alcohol and a hint of fresh leather. Taste of alcohol and yeast with alcohol becoming the dominant flavor as it warms. Dry finish. I will have forgotten this beer by the time I drink my next one.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TheBeerGod (4632) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - FEB 11, 2003
Poured a rusty brown with a generous and light tan head. The initial aroma was sour. Very sour. Almost as if the bottle could have been bad. We let it sit for a while and boy did it mellow out. Strong aroma of fruit with apples clearly dominant. Definite floral aroma and taste as well with a splash of chocolate or cocoa. Finishes well but does leave the fruit taste on the tongue. Not as good as I remember the first time I had it. Hope they haven't changed the recipe.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 WabashMan (971) - Noblesville, Indiana, USA - FEB 10, 2003
A nice Belgian. To its credit, I first tasted this along with the Delirium Nocturnum. While this is good in its own right, it lost that particular battle. Nice flavor and color, along with generous head, make this a very nice Belgian strong.

Dark brown, whisps of purple and red. Wonderful nuts, cherries, some grapes and bananas. Great full light brown head. New york . . . Who would have known?
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 GiddyBoy (115) - USA - JAN 23, 2003
OK this scared me. I underdstood by reading the bottle that it was based on Burgundy wine, but the aroma and flavor were quite overwhelming for me. In fact, what shocked me most was the fact that it actually burned my lips. I guess this is just not a beer for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 apoptosis (1317) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 13, 2003
A sweet, wine-like beer, that has esters of banana. Honey is also present in the flavor. Not bad - very different. A somewhat sour finish was present in my beer.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 notalush (4173) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 13, 2003
Deep red to ruby color, but lacking much of a head. This has a very raisin and brown sugar aroma and a malty, fruity, spicy (even peppery) taste to it. Plums and grapes make their presense known as well. Crisp, tart, slightly dry finish. A very pleasant belgian ale.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Suttree (4452) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 13, 2003
Dark mahogany color, and a friut aroma. Tastes of raisins, plums, bananas, and some roastyness. Long, dry finish. Hides the alcohol taste.
