highibus (421), Mill Creek, Washington, USA Feb 15, 2008 Pours a beautiful deep mahogany. Two finger white creamy head with great lacing and lasting power. Aroma is bready, yeasty and sweet malt. Sweet dark fruit like cherry and plum. Medium body with a nice chewiness. As far as I am concerned the epitome of the style (although I have not had all the belgians yet). Excellent beer. martinjon (16), Sweden Feb 15, 2008 bread, dough, licorice, red, hazy, frothy, medium sweetness, lightly sour, Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Feb 14, 2008 Poured into a tumbler with a big head that settled nicely but quickly. A really nice chocolate and cigar box like smell. Very full bodied that finished with a bit of a kick at the end. A very good beer. Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA Feb 12, 2008 nice big pillow head ... sweet malt and molasses aroma ... starts sweet with alcohol in the middle ...cleaner than expected finish ....slight alcohol in the aftertaste..... its good screwball (796), Motala, Sweden Feb 12, 2008 Bottle. Brown-red hazy body. Begie head. Aroma is little starnge... Brings burnt sugar, rubber, candy and raisin. Flavor brings malt, sweet burnt sugar, candy, rubber, sirup. Palate is watery and has to much Co2. Furseth (1328), Kungälv, Sweden Feb 9, 2008 Bottle(75cl) Clear deep red/amber colour, with a nice creamy head. Aroma was citrus, choclate, caramel, metalic, yeasty, fruity and has rasin. Flavor was almost the same, smouth creamy mouth feeling. Medium body, and medium rasin/fruity finish. Nice pilsnerrogge (1769), Finspång, Sweden Feb 8, 2008 75 cl corked bottle Reddish brown colour, somewhat hazy. Big, fluffy, collapsing head. Toffee, caramel and chocolate on the nose. Flavour is sweet, fruity toffee. Quite pleasant but might get a little bit too sweet in the long run. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA Feb 7, 2008 A sweet, rich beer that is definitely right up my alley. I sandwiched it in between two great Unibroues though, and I think maybe it would stand up better on its own. Yummy yum though!
