COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

bottle, pours amber with tond of red, tall off white head. Strong malt and spiced nose. Some clove, and cinnamon. Very sweet malt body, some candy sugar, and a peppery spiced ending that lingers. An average dubbel.

Good example of the style. Big, white, fluffly head, nice reddish-brown body. Fruity and chocolatey. I get a little hint of the alcohol in here.

Bottle@Home. Malty aroma with prune, toffee and figs. Chestnut brown, beige head, good lace. Very sweet, fruity, nutty, prune, soft bitterness. Full, sparkling, more alcoholic than expected. Quite flavourful, nice complexity.

Pours a brownish burgundy with a bit of fluffy tan head. Aroma is strong of caramel and malt. Flavor is strong and intense: caramel, malt, vanilla, perhaps some raisin, and bourbon. The finish has more bourbon to it. Fairly complex and unique.

750 mL bottle. Dark brown pour with a nice thick tan head. Aroma of raisins, dirt, alcohol and caramel. Taste of malt and caramel with Belgian yeast present. Surprisingly high alcohol in the finish, almost like a quad.

sweet grape juice like aroma a pleasant slightly rosy blush flavor starts acidic then jumps into strong alcohol blended in with hearty bread yeast aftertaste light on the palate light on the carbonation but a serious beer in alcohol content. It makes you feel out of your league.

Pours a deep burgundy with thick tawny head. Never thought I’d find a brew with cotton candy as I’ve seen before, but that was the first thing I thought of when sniffing this one, along with dark fruit, caramel, chocolate and toffee. Flavors of raisins, caramel and little chocolate with malts on the end. Finishes dry with alcohol warmth and light sweet resonance.(brandy-esque)

Tasty fruity and slightly sticky with a bit of a good wine-like tart ale-fruit edge from the yeast, and a clever attenuation of hops that puts the dryness right under the fruity tartness and sweetness. Everything supports the taste profile. Quite a nice little trick! Smell apple raisin sweet grains and tart yeast. Taste raisin, apple, dry cocoa, caramel. Great finish with a bit of alcohol warmth. Really nice, possibly more subtle dry, nuanced and wine-like than similar Unibroue beers.
