Initial taste has a fizzy mouthfeel with dark fruits, cherry, cocoa, and funky metallic notes. Finishing with a mild bitter hop. Slight lacing of the glass. Aroma is sweet and nutty, with notes of maple, dark fruit, caramel and honey. Flavor is sweet: apple, anise, berry, balanced with light yeast, toffee, chocolate, and molasses. Nice dry palate. Belgo-yeast and a range of inviting fruits; mainly sweet apples, plums and berries. Whiffs of caramel and flowers. Taste is fruity-sweet, malty, light yeasty and very well rounded. A hint of liquorice and chocolate in the flavor, with a nice sweet toffee aftertaste. A good Belgium strong ale for the price.
