COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Bottle pours a hazy deep red/brown beer with a large tan head. Scent is sweet fruit, yeast. Taste is sweet malt with yeast. High carbonation.

Ginger Man, NYC. Hazy ruby brown coloured, brown head. Malty, nuts, brown sugar and warming alcohol. Tastes like a good Belgian Strong, although the mouthfeel is not as great. Might age very well i think.

Poured a deep fluffy head. Little lacing. Deep garnet color. Fruity, wine-like aroma with a hint of licorice?? Taste of wine, then sweet and as promised dry. Not bad at all.

Big frothy head with Mike Jordan hangtime. Just the site of it had me drooling. A rich mahogany sunset that is almost hypnotising. I thought I was in Aruba on the beach at dusk. Has a ballanced flavor profile with slight earth and fruit. Nice dry finish. Alcohol is well hidden. A tasty ale indeed. I highly recommend.

Initially, the aroma was amazing, blossoming with fruit and honey. Poured with no head which was weird. Could have had a more compelx taste. The bottle I had was young. I would like to try an older one (with more developed malts?).

750ml bottle from Winooski shared with friends at home.

Appearance : Deep mahogany with a big creamy and foamy brown head. Light gusher. Not much lacing.
Aroma : Sugary and nutty. Slightly earthy and mineral. Light toffee and licorice. Light hints of bananas. Sugary candy on nose.
Taste : Sugary and nutty with some caramel. Finish is a bit mineral and earthy. Mineral profile fades away with time. Spicy and a bit bitter. Carbonation quite fizzy.
Overall : NIce nose, nice caramel and sugar. Nice nutty profile. Mineral profile is a bit distubring at first but fades away after some time. Nice sugar on taste. Very nice belgian beer. Nothing really outstanding but well made.

Moderate foamy head, heavy lacing, strong, tofee, light floral flavor. Not very sweet for an abbey ale. Bitter, strong alcohol finish.
