Good size tan head. Slightly vinuous alcoholic notes in the aroma overlay the malt. First impression was of sweet malty molasses which fades into the background somewhat as the full boidies alcohol asserts itself. Interesting finish and aftertaste with some lingering dark fruits. Palate is quite nice. Good beer well deserving of the re-rate. Rciesla (3915), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Very strong rye-pudding aroma with lots of dried fruit and a hint of alcohol, plus orange-peel and other spices. Very malty, somewhat anise-licoricey flavor with plums and spices. Initially sweetish and caramely, but dries out nicely towards the finish. Quite full-bodied palate with perfectly balanced carbonation. A really tasty, extremely balanced and strong dubbel brewed with taste (not overdone). Dedollewaitor (3783), Odense, Denmark
