COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Enjoyed this beer with pizza in little Italy at Toby's Public House. On tap it was slightly cloudy. Head disappeared quickly. Generous delicious hops were well balanced with a thick creamy mouth feel and a nice finish. F Avey---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml corked bottle, poured in snifter. Pours a nice off white head that has good retention. Deep amber color. Clearly bottle conditioned, and carb level is nice. Big cherry woody aroma, with banana and spice. Smooth for a Dubbel, and quite nice. Alcohol bite at the end, licorice malty but not overbearing. Finish is clean. Tasty.

0.355l bottle. Courtesy of Cristobal37. Thanks! Hazy reddish dark orange body, beige head. Aroma of caramel, toast, orange peel, peach, brown sugar and nutmeg. Taste is really similar to the aroma, but it’s not that sweet which I like. The finish has some toast and floral hops to it. Very nice.

OMGGANG ABBEY’S ALE IS A WONDER FULL BELGIUM. THE SMELL AND THE FLAYVERS IS LIKE FRUITS AND SPICE. THIS IS SPECHAL TOO BELGIUMS. WHAT IS NOT GOOD IS THE BUBBLES. ITS SO BUBBLEY AND IT MADE ME SNEEZE TO. I LIKE TO YOU CAN RELLY FEEL THE CARBONEATION IN YOU’RE STOMACHE BUT THIS WONE YOU CAN RELLY FEEL THE CARBONEATION IN YOU’RE EYES AND NOSE. MY ADVISE TO YOU IS PUT A LITTLE SALT IN THE GLASS AND THEN RUB YOU’RE EARS AND STICK FINGERS INTO THE BEER. THEN IT IS REDY TO DRINK FAST.

Bottle to glass. A nice amber color, ruby red, lots of white head. Aroma is ton of dark fruit, plum, fig, yum. taste is surprisingly light, dry, a bit of tarty fruitiness. A bit of alcohol warmth as it goes down. Really nice easy drinking belgium beer.

draft that poured a medium rich mahogany color with minimal white head. initial aroma was medium to heavy sweet malts with some caramels notes as well as dark red fruits and cherries. the flavor was the sweet malts, caramels and red fruits with a predominant flavor of the cherry. very smooth and flavorful. nice malt backbone start to finish. really really good.

Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with an attractive tan head and a toffee aroma. There is a dark molasses and plum flavor with a bit of chocolate and a dry finish. Nicely crafted in the Belgian style.

Damn good beer. Sweet dark fruits with some spices. Smooth mouth feel. Only knock would the lack of a strong nose. Delicious none the less.

From a 12 ounce bottle. Pours turbid deep chestnut with a beautiful brown-white head. Toffee nose is prevalent. Taste is sweet but muted, less candied sugar than other Belgians. Finishes smooth and clean. A solid performer.
