Dickinsonbeer (2512), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 20, 2004 In my oppinion this is the best brew from ommegang. Very complex and strong with lots of malt and fruity yeasty notes going on yet it isnt overbearing. QUite drinkable for such a strong beer. Goes down pretty easy.
MiP (4927), Flensburg, Germany Aug 20, 2008 Bottle, 8.5%. Yeasty, slightly funky aroma. The flavour starts off very malty with some malt syrup, melassis. Ends on a citric note that lifts the beer a bit. Has a little cardboard to it, but it does not matter much. wetherel (976), Carlsbad, California, USA Aug 20, 2008 On tap at Stone 12th, but I’ve tried this many times over the years. After learning about red beers, then Chimay red, I stumbled upon this and I like it better than Chimay Red. My standards are narrower now, but at one time this was one of my favorite beers. Tasting this after such a long delay, reminds me of why I liked it: Lots and lots of sweet long boil melanoidins and caramelization. I see this flavor also in many IPAs and a few English beers. I like it. Much better than Ommegedon yuckiness. Swalden_28 (536), McKinney, Texas, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle from Plano Beverage in Plano, TX.
Pours an orange/red with beige head. Nice floral ,spicey, malty aroma aroma. Flavor is medium sweet, nice caramel, black licorice notes, spicy hops. Palate is medium mouth feel with champaign like qualities, carbonation wise. Over all, I enjoyed this. abcfan (149), USA Aug 17, 2008 Another solid brew from Ommegang! Pours a deep amber color with off-white head. Sweet, dark fruit aroma with candy yeast notes, Complex taste of fruit and candy. Sweet finish, that lingers for a while. rcasta (257), El Salvador Aug 17, 2008 Gracias casyta desde nyc hasta el salvador. Me gusto porque esta rica rica rica. En realidad esta buena
