Bottle. Poured a hazy brown with a large tan rocky head and had good lacing. The aroma was of sweet toasted malts, dried fruit, a leathery yeast and had a moderate alcohol scent. It tasted slightly sweet yet acidic in the beginning and finished about the same with a mild alcohol flavor. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body with the texture being quite creamy. Overall an assume brew and quite satisfying to drink.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at Giant Eagle Market District. Pours a nice dark rich color with a pleasant fruity aroma. Somewhat thin for a darker beer but it doesn’t lack for flavor. A nice mixture of ingredients gives it a full rich taste that is pleasing to the palate. Smooth with little carbonation. Goes down easy. We tried 5 different Belgian beers at the store and bought a bottle of this to bring home.

750ml corked bottle, poured in snifter. Pours a nice off white head that has good retention. Deep amber color. Clearly bottle conditioned, and carb level is nice. Big cherry woody aroma, with banana and spice. Smooth for a Dubbel, and quite nice. Alcohol bite at the end, licorice malty but not overbearing. Finish is clean. Tasty.

0.355l bottle. Courtesy of Cristobal37. Thanks! Hazy reddish dark orange body, beige head. Aroma of caramel, toast, orange peel, peach, brown sugar and nutmeg. Taste is really similar to the aroma, but it’s not that sweet which I like. The finish has some toast and floral hops to it. Very nice.

OMGGANG ABBEY’S ALE IS A WONDER FULL BELGIUM. THE SMELL AND THE FLAYVERS IS LIKE FRUITS AND SPICE. THIS IS SPECHAL TOO BELGIUMS. WHAT IS NOT GOOD IS THE BUBBLES. ITS SO BUBBLEY AND IT MADE ME SNEEZE TO. I LIKE TO YOU CAN RELLY FEEL THE CARBONEATION IN YOU’RE STOMACHE BUT THIS WONE YOU CAN RELLY FEEL THE CARBONEATION IN YOU’RE EYES AND NOSE. MY ADVISE TO YOU IS PUT A LITTLE SALT IN THE GLASS AND THEN RUB YOU’RE EARS AND STICK FINGERS INTO THE BEER. THEN IT IS REDY TO DRINK FAST.

Bottle to glass. A nice amber color, ruby red, lots of white head. Aroma is ton of dark fruit, plum, fig, yum. taste is surprisingly light, dry, a bit of tarty fruitiness. A bit of alcohol warmth as it goes down. Really nice easy drinking belgium beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
