COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale brewed with Spices: Coriander, Cardamon, Mace, Grains of Paradise, Sweet Orange Peel. Adoration is a traditional winter ale, brewed in the Belgian manner, but with the twist of unusual spicing. Sip it on a winter eve sitting before a fire. You’ll understand why we couldn’t name it anything else.

Bottle: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany amber with a frothy, spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and biscuity Belgian malts with some floral clove and orange spice. Starts with good fullness and finely dissolved carbonation along with rich dark caramel sweetness well-balanced with earthy bitterness and holiday spice. Finishes drier and slightly warming. A pretty true to style and unique brew that should age for years to come.

Sampled on 1/1/10. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium orange golden brown from a 750ml corked and caged bottle. Medium sized tan foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel malts, oranges, bananas, bread, cardamom, yeasty and sweet. A medium to full bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, banana and clove, orange and coriander. There is a bunch of sugar like sweetness as well. The hops are earthy and spicy. The spicing is interesting, coriander, mace, cardamom, and orange peel are all noticeable and mix and match nicely with the sweet malts, if they weren’t there this beer would be way too sweet. Nice lively carbonation. Nice winter ale. Meant to be sipped slowly, perhaps in front of a roaring fire (be sure you have a fireplace!). Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet with some spices.

750 ml bottle, split with my fiance. I really enjoyed this beer, although proved a bit much for her. It pours a reddish oorange in color with a large, rapidly fading pure white head. The aroma is bananas, orange peel, and spices. It also has a very yeasty bread character. It has a full body, but isn’t heavy. The flavor profile, goes right along with the aroma, really bready, citrus, spices are very noticable. Alcohol kick in the finish.

Dark red color with a large head that quickly collapses. Aroma of bananas, orange and yeast. Yeast... holy yeasty flavor. And spice. I think they may have put some spices in here. Very peppery, some orange and a ton breadiness and yeast. And spices. Did I mention spice and yeast? The rest of the advertised spices don’t really stand out to me, even after coming up to near room temp. Just a general spicy quality. Really tasty.

11 ounce goblet - $8.75 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Essentially opaque, mahogany-hued body topped with a foamy crown of yellowish beige that settles out quickly. Smell: It’s fruity, strongly spicy and fairly sweet-scented with layers of melted candies and caramel and more than its fair share of notable alcoholic wafts. Taste: Sweet maltiness tasting of a rich caramel sauce further boosted by an additional sugary candy sweetness is tempered by a staunch spice blend with its boldly peppery bite. As with the nose, it’s rather fruity with plenty of dark fruit tastes, some light citrus, and a bit of banana that, when coupled with the encroaching, growing alcoholic hotness presents a hint of 99 Bananas. Finishes both spicy and sweet with a pinch of boozy heat. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-plus carbonation. Drinkability: At this early stage, the bold spiciness serves only to exacerbate the hot, fusel alcohol character of the beer. For me, this one definitely needs some time away in a deep, dark cellar to hopefully mellow.

Thin head of fine bubbles with great carbonation. Does not last long. Sweet dark fruit, cherries, malts, and some spices. Dark mahagony brown in color. Slight tartness from a hint of raspberry/cherry along with lots of malts and spices, a bit of dry chalkyness and some caramel. A nice combination of flavors. Hides its alcohol well. Finishes sweet and tart and spicy. This is a damn good brew. Me likey!

Pours bright mahogany into a trappist glass. Off-white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Sugar plum and nutmeg aromas. Full with upfront sweet gingerbread and a lasting allspice finish.
