Ale brewed with Spices: Coriander, Cardamon, Mace, Grains of Paradise, Sweet Orange Peel. Adoration is a traditional winter ale, brewed in the Belgian manner, but with the twist of unusual spicing. Sip it on a winter eve sitting before a fire. You’ll understand why we couldn’t name it anything else.

Pours very easy with a strong head, the head dissipates quicker then I would of wished. Has a strong aroma of banana and coriander. Dark red to a light brown ale. Nice light palate, that would be heavier if it wasn’t for the sweet finish at the end. Many different fruity flavors, super maltiness provides a sweetness and coriander balances the front of this beer nicely, the orange peel comes on near the finish.

$7 for the full pint served at the Grog. Pours apple cider dark reddish; thinning whitish head. A few bubbles. Aromas of nail polish, cranberry sauce, ground cinnamon, vanilla wafers, and orange extract. Kind of off-putting. Tastes of campaign yeast, pickled pears, corn, and spearmint. Seriously, WTF is this? Yeah, avoid.

Draft at Alla Spina. Pours a hazy chestnut with one finger of beige head and protruding soapy lace. Nose of spice – coriander, cardamom, light pepper, some citrus, plum, banana, dark fruits. Medium body, slightly warming and boozy. A little too much spice for my taste. Sweet up front with a dry finish.

12 oz. bottle bought as a single. Sweet, dark fruit aromas from a medium copper/amber body with a tan head. A cascade of flavors hits immediately with dark plums, dark cherries and Belgian candy sugar along with holiday baking spices and Belgian yeastiness. The body is absolutely luscious, creamy but at the same time light and thin. Tobacco notes pop up along with white pepper spiciness. There’s a faint citrus line that seems to underlie all of this. Finishes with leather and bitter earthiness, along with cream and more candy sugar sweetness. Wow, what a beer and very aptly named.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper red with fine tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet, fruity, plum, citrus, spice. Flavor is very sweet, caramel, fruity, and yeasty, with a strong spice finish, cardamom. Rich and sweet, fruity and spicy. Alcohol is well hidden. Soft carbonation, medium body, and smooth texture. A nice spiced belgian.

Subtle aroma but huge and enjoyable flavor. Big spice flavor but not smash you over the head intense. Very very nice winter ale.

12oz bottle into a goblet Pours a somewhat hazy dark ruby-brown with a fluffy two finger white head. Very good head retention and ok lacing. The aroma definitely has that Belgian yeasty spice that I am expecting but the added spices are also quite noticeable. There is a whiff of alcohol in there along with dark fruit; especially cherries. Even more cherry in the flavor along with tons of dark fruit. It is almost a little too much. The spices are also prominent and the Belgian yeast character not so much. Alcohol warmth is present along with just a small ethanol taste. Very full silky mouthfeel but the sweetness is held in check with just a slightly sticky finish. Overall, an ok Belgian ale but I feel it could use some time for everything to come together. The spices are just a little too strong and could use some time to fade. Nonetheless a good effort from Ommegang.

Pours a deep amber with dark red hues and a frothy head bearing good retention. Aromas of banana, coriander, faint peel of orange, spices much like egg nog but in no way milky. Flavors of orange peel, spices (coriander biggest, and that spice in egg nog!), wheat/bread ester, and caramel. Medium sweet. Light dry finish and mostly clean.

The spices are rather subdued. Seems like a good brown Belgium Ale. Probably my favorite winter beer?

Poured a deep red with a paper thin cream colored head. Nose is heavy with winter spices and sweet citrus. Taste was unusually sweet at first then a sharp tang if spice and hops at the finish. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
