4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared a bottle with friends at the Ginger Man in NYC. Pours a dark, ruby-brown with puffy off-white head. Aroma of spices with notes of sweet malts. Flavor is a rich complexity of sweet, dark fruits and spiciness, along with a thick, sugary palatte. Body is almost syrupy. Finish is sweet and mildly warming. Overall quite delicious.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A: The beer pours an amber-brown color with a finger or so of khaki colored foam.
S: Intensely spicy with tons of coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Sweet caramel malts with lots of toasted bread aroma to go with it. Mildly yeasty with some alcohol coming through now and again.
T: A rather similar tale when it comes to the flavor. Intense spice flavor that is rather reminiscent of gingerbread. A fairly strong cinnamon, coriander, and nutmeg flavor as well. Sweet caramel and toasted bread with banana and dark fruits adding sweetness as well.
M: Medium in body with a moderate carbonation.
O: The spiciness can become a bit tiring after a handful of sips. Good, but I couldn’t see myself drinking much of this.

Draught. Murky brown. Thin head. Has a Christmas cake aroma with the candied fruit, ginger and whatnot. Liquorice character is strong. The malts have a nice caramel note. Cinnamon and some other spices dominate, with a little bit of alcohol coming in late. Kind of harsh and unbalanced.
