4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smells strongly of raspberries (Framboise-esque), some spiciness and some brett funk. Pours a lively blush with an off-pink head. Taste is super tart, lots of brett notes and finishes slightly sour and acidic. Strong fruit flavor, very tasty. Super good beer, like a beefed up Framboise that I can actually drink. Brett works well, nice level of sourness.

Another winner from Ommegang. Different but worth seeking out, especially if you’re a fan of Lambik styles or Flemish sours. Try with cheese, or seafood dishes.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a light pink with a medium head. Aromas of fruits, raspberry and pear. A very tart flavor and a high carbonation. Could taste a lot of raspberry but didn’t really get and pear. A fantastic unique beer though.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle thanks to kkearn! Pours nice reddish pink with a nice fluffy white head that lasts. Great looking beer, carbed perfectly. Aroma is a bit subdued, but has notes of some pear, apricot, apple, some slight floral, funky brett notes, touch of earth, grape notes in there as well. Taste is rich, tart and delicious, the fruit complimenting very well. Creamy mouthfeel is pretty spot on. Tastes include tropical fruit, pear, dried apricot, apple, tart funky notes as well in there some barnyard and musty earth, complimenting with some nice floral hibiscus notes as well. Tasty, tasty brew, no sign of the alcohol at all. Refreshing, easy to drink.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured an almost unnatural clear red with the greatest pink head. Tart nose followed by a wonderful tartness balance with some sweetness. Very, very refreshing/

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Fruit and effervescence in the aroma, with a mild nuttiness. The flavor has a strong raspberry bite to it, along with grains and a good maltiness to it. A very good fruit beer, among the best I’ve had.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark pink with a light pink head that fizzles away rather quickly. Smells like raspberries and pears with some funkiness and a touch of earthiness. Tastes like sour red and green fruits with a hint of bitter earthiness. Light-bodied with a sticky texture and lots of mouth-carbonation, Ommegang Aphrodite finishes with some bitter dryness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
8-8-11 at home from a bottle.
Aroma: Wonderful notes of fruit, spice, and funk on the nose. Fruit is of tart raspberry along with some of the pear juice extract. Mild barnyard notes on the palate.
Appearance: This is the highest rating I have ever given a beer on appearance. The purple is amazing and the light rose colored tight head is gorgeous.
Taste: Wonderful tart notes initially on the palate. Mild belgian spice and barnyard on the mid palate with a bit of the souring coming through in the mid to late palate. Wonderful and balanced, while it might be just a hair too tart. Mild lingering bitterness.
Palate: Nice strong carbonation and delightful tang.
Overall: This is a wonderful, enjoyable beer. Supremely drinkable at 9% ABV. They call it a fruit saison. Wonderful.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy, reddish brown with pinkish head and lots of fizziness. Aromas raspberry and the brett funk come through. Taste is sour and tart, some sweetness, raspberries add a great flavor. Bitterness on the back end. Palate is lively carbonation with a dry finish. Overall, this is very good. A great blend of tart, sweet, and bitter. The raspberries are present, but not overpowering complements the brett’s funk. Great job Ommegang.
