Jul 30, 2009 750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear orange amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, barnyard, light carmel and light fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, bread, pepper, light barnyard and light fruittiness with a crisp dry lingering finish.

Jul 28, 2009 750ml cork n cage bottle. Pours an orange golden color with a big white head. Aroma is yeast, spice, malty/ bready, some brett funk in there and some sour notes as well. Flavor is much the same malty, spicy, yeasty funkiness, some citrus and pepper in the finish. Quite nice but way overpriced for a Saison made on US soil. For the money I’ll stick with Saison Dupont.

Jul 27, 2009 Aroma is full of Belgium yeast, with medium dark fruit. There is also a little dry alcohol, with a wooden smell. The appearance is copper in color with a thin white collar, with a little bubbling foam on top. The flavor is dry with somewhat of a beer/wine taste. There are definite notes of Belgium yeast. The feel is dry, with a slight effervescent feel, with a mildly tart finish.

Jul 27, 2009 Bottle @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2009. Orange color. Tangerine and medecinal notes in the aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Tangerine and citrus in the flavor. Malty sweetish with a hint of tartness. Sticky mouthfeel.

Jul 26, 2009 Picked this up at Greens in Atlanta.Poured a cloudy golden color with a pillowly head.The nose was citrus and bready.Flavor had some spice, citrus and hints of tartness.Finished off slightly crisp.

Jul 26, 2009 Batch #2. 750ml corked bottle served in a Chimay chalice. Poured a reddish gold with a finger of white head. A bit of brett in the aroma along with some citrus and sugar. Light bodied, very refreshing. Dry with a spritzy mouthfeel. Lightly tart, could be a little more for my taste. Nothing substantial, but very drinkable. A training wheels Brett beer. Considering the price, I don’t think I would buy it again.

Jul 25, 2009 Pours a rich amber color with a bit of a reddish tone to it and pillowy white head. Aroma is very floral and perfumy. Notes of fruit, yeast funk, and light cherry. Taste is light cherry, brettanomyces, and light malt backbone. It’s lightly carbonated and has a dry crisp finish. This is another great beer from Ommegang.

Jul 23, 2009 RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting at the Harlequin. Hazy orange colour, white head. Aroma of a light sourness, cloves, yeast, fruits. Flavour has the same qualities, a bit of toffee, light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.
