The aroma is milk chocolate, some coffee, vanilla and yeast.
The flavor had much less chocolate that I was expecting. A bit chalky on the tongue.
In many ways this is just a good, typical Stout. aenimopiate (150), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA

This chocolate stout is another good example of the quality brew they make. This chocolate stout ranks rightup there with youngs and rogue. Unfortunately, this is seasonal, so grab some while you still can. arminjewell (363), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 1, 2010 Pours a thick, coal black. Brown tan head. Aroma is of banana and clove- the kind of notes you’d think you’d be getting from a Belgian ale. Chocolate is in there also. Tasting it is very interesting. First of all, the carbonation is a sparkly lightness that dances across your tongue. Its very fruity. Bitterness taps on the tip of your tongue and chocolate gradually eases its way onto the back. Its very smooth and silky. What an interesting beer. brosen561 (26), Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 31, 2010 22 oz bottle. It’s hard to find a good chocolate stout when most stouts already have coffee/chocolate flavors. However, this one distinguishes itself. Pours a solid black with a dark, creamy head. The aroma is like that of a fresh brewed mocha, bittersweet chocolate, and has an earthy impression. The taste is nicely sweet. It starts more like a dry stout and then the chocolate flavors really hit as it finishes, leaving a bittersweet chocolate taste in your mouth. Good stuff for after dinner. amg800 (39), Ada, Michigan, USA
