Oily black body poured a nice head with good lacing. Aroma was yeasty, fruity, and slight hops. Flavor was much smoke and oak, slight cocoa bitterness, hints of vanilla and banana, smooth oak, and phenolic finish. Good porter/stout tasting beer, not really chocolate at all which was surprising.

It wasn’t sweet, like I had expected. It tasted like a really smooth and tasty stout. It was roasty and oaky, with quite a lot of hop presence. Awesome.

750 mL bottle purchased at Chuck’s Liquor in Bowling Green. Poured a murky dark brown with a three finger creamy brown head. Aroma of cocoa and roasted malt. The flavor had notes of cocoa, coffee and roasted malt.

pitch black with large and lingering tan head. moderate carbonation for a stout, low for a belgian. estery fruity aroma. flavor is powerfully estery with some lingering chocolatey follow that is pleasant. a little roasted flavor comes through, but not much. I feel that in order to combat the fruity esters of a belgian yeast, a strong roasty flavor is necessary to make it obviously a stout and not just a bizarre Belgian dubbel spin-off.

25 oz bottle from 3 bottle craft pack. Poured dark brown that you cannot see through. Tan head that says around and great lacing. Chocolate is the biggest flavor with some coffee bitterness. Alcohol present but not overwhelming. Good beer.

This truly is dessert in a bottle. Certainly a fantastic beer! I loved it! This one pours a nice velvety brown with a tannish head. It’s got some carbonation but still goes down fairly smoothly. It almost reminds me of a chocolate soda, but tastes a bit better than that. It’s got some coffee notes in it as well. I really enjoyed this one and will be certain to drink it again. Cooperstown is no longer only famous for baseball.

25 oz bottle, from the brewery. Pours a very dark brown body with a one finger fizzy brown head that left some heavy lacing. A good deal of visible carbonation. The nose is indeed very chocolaty with some nice roast, nutty malt, yeastiness, and light notes of coffee grounds and chocolate cake. The flavor is very earthy and yeasty with bitter chocolate and roasty grains. Finishes rather sweet with a slight mineral note. Mouthfeel is fairly soft and velvety with nice gentle fizzy carbonation. Overall, pretty nice drinker. Not the most complex, but it is enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a brown body with a similar head. Sweet light bitter chocolate with accents of sweeter chocolate. Light malty body and some spices to finish. Overall pretty simple and straightforward chocolate.
