| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Not for chugging. This is one of the most viscous beers I have ever had. By beer, I actually mean chocolate syrup. The best part was that it wasn’t obnoxously sweet and was actually pleasantly bitter. It was huge, but not overdone. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown/black color, big, brown sticky head, lasts and laces. Aroma is of coffee, chocolate just a touch of roast. Flavor is robustly amlt heavy, chocolate (surprise), coffee, with a bit of nuttiness. Very smooth drinking, roast isn’t overdone and not acrid or acidic at all. Keeping in line with their decent lineup, this is one solid brew. Very smooth drinking sipper. bluemeow76 (693), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2008 From recent stout tasting. The packaging leads one to believe that it’s going to be good - I mean it’s corked! They put a cork in this beer - so it’s got to be special. Ehhhh... it’s not. It’s not bad but very average. The chocolate wasn’t stong enough for them to be calling it chocolate indulgence by any means. phishpond417 (1935), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Very tastey beer. Im glad i picked it up! Pours a dark black colour with a huge frothy tan head. Very carbonated, aroma is sweet and enticing, lots of chocolate, touch of coffee and toffee. Sweet, but not over powering. Creamy and chocolatey with a smooth dry finish. LilBeerDoctor (1492), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2008 Updated: Dec 21, 2008On tap at the Ginger Man. Pours black with a dark tan head with decent lacing. Looks very pretty in the snifter it was served in. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor of coffee, rich roasted malt. Light body at first, which becomes heavier as it warms. Very sweet already, but I would like to see more chocolate in this. A very good stout nonetheless. 8/5/7/4/14
Update 12/21/08: Bottle. Lots of roasted nuts, peanuts, roasted malt in this one. Not much chocolate. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Yum!! Bumped this up a point. 8/4/8/4/15 fredandboboflo (1404), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2008 On tap at Ginger Man. Aroma of rich semi-sweet chocolate, roasted malt, coffee. This is the third time I’ve had this, and the flavor turned a bit more to sweet/artificial chocolate than I had remembered. Still nothing arrestingly negative about it though, so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Mouthfeel remains silky smooth throughout. Very nice. Dogbrick (2855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Sample at the Most Honorable SuperHappyFun Stout Tasting. Pours opaque black with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is chocolate and dark malts. Medium-bodied and smooth with flavors of chocolate, roasted malt and anise. Smooth finish with lingering chocolate malt aftertaste. Overall this beer definitely suffered a bit by being sampled after Choklit Indulgence. Decent, but not really something I would seek out again.
