Bottle, 75 cl corked, thx to thewolf. It looks gorgeous in the glass, black as can be, with a big, creamy tan head leaving nice lacings. The aroma is quite gentle but nice, with chocolate, roast, cocoa and a dash of coffee. I would like the aroma to be more pronounced, just like the flavor, which is chocolatey as the aroma, quite sweetish, with cocoa and a little fruityness in the middle. Silky, full-bodied mouthfeel, quite carbonated and dry. The finish is of the lasting kind, with chocolate, coffee and coffee-like bitterness. A beer to be enjoyed for a while, or even better, shared with a good friend. (0803301)

*did not like would not buy* aroma: sour, dry cocoa lotsa booze in the nose. app: seems the same of a stout. flavor: soy sour water, odd sweet dirty nickles. this is a bad belgian a bad stout a bad beer. palate: thin and spritzy. OA: not a good idea. so far belgian and stout do not go hand in hand.

Pours a nice black with a fluffy tan head that lasts. Aroma is basic stout. Roasted malts, maybe a hint of the cocoa. First sip was metallic to a fault. I considered not finishing the 750mL bottle. As it warmed, more of the chocolate took over. Mainly on the finish, but it does taste of quality chocolate. Not overly sweet, which I thought it ran the risk of being. Overall, a good beer, but I wouldn’t drink it more than once every few years I would think.

I guess I’m in the minority on this one, but I wasn’t overly impressed. Dark pour all brown with minimal head, but nice lacing. Strong aroma of burnt chocolate, but not appealing. The flavor in this one improved as it warmed, but was strong unsweetened chocolate with that sour lactic flavor that I am not fond of. There was also a certain fruitiness present that didn’t blend well with the chocolate along with some burnt tasting roast. Very smooth rich flavor and mouthfeel, but I just wasn’t digging it, especially at the hefty pricetag.

Pours dark brown with tan head, flavor was not as chocolate as I had expected. The dryness was not expected.

Pour is black with ruby highlights and a thin brown head...smell is toasty and roasty with all different layers of chocolate...the taste is sweet roasty and sweet, but just generally weak...thin bodied...very chocolatey and soft...but maybe that was the point?

Bottle, pours a deep brown, almost black body with thick light brown head. Aroma of cocoa, bread, yeast, and malt. Flavors of roasted malts, dark chocolate, and coffee with a hint of nuts. Smooth mouthfeel, but seems a little light for the style. Dry, cocoa finish and aftertaste.
