2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours black with a thick tan head. Not much for aroma and fairly bland taste with hints of chocolate. Disappointing.

It poured a clear amber color with a small white head. The aroma was of spicy citrus, tea and some earthy yeast. The taste was a bittersweet dark chocolate and cocoa even though the chocolate qualities arenít extremely obvious.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black with two fingers of cream head in a snifter.
Pretty ok. A bit thinner on the mouthfeel than I wold want with a stout, and the chocolate isnít nearly as pronounced as advertised. Itís there, but you have to do a bit of searching. They did a good job with accenting the belgian qualities, but the chocolate and stout elements seem to be a bit too understated for my taste. Donít hate it, but wouldnt buy again.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Very disappointed in this one. Very dark almost black with a medium tan head. Aroma is very much like a Belgium ale, not so much a stout. Taste is like basement, some spice, not much chocolate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma of spice, hops, and chocolate along with some woody notes. Pours an opaque black with a robust, mostly lasting, dark tan head and abundant lacing. The taste is cola, vanilla, spice, chocolate notes, with hints of sweetness and a sourness. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, I was disappointed in the lack of a robust chocolate flavor and the less than full body.

Very dark, not overly viscous pour. Chocolate, wood, resin, and grain. Highly carbonated. Cacao bitterness at the end.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thick, frothy beige head that leaves decent ring lace on the glass. The color is closer to a dark stout--no light penetrates the liquid and it appears black.
Strong semi-sweet chocolate with the lightest of Belgian yeast aroma.
Relatively thin liquor for what I was expecting. The flavor has a lot of dark chocolate with some cream. This is a wonderful mix of Belgian flavors and a dark English porter.

From a 750ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with moderately high carbonation. Aroma of the Belgian yeasts with mild chocolate notes. Very Belgian be and of course the yeasts are strong in the flavor giving it a very spicy character with notes of cinnamon and coriander. Chocolate is almost undetectable initially only showing up very slightly in the aftertaste. This beer is quite a dissapointment. Given the name, one would expect something rich, indulgent, and having strong chocolate character. Unfortunately, this is a disappointment as a stout and such a beer should have never been attempted using belgian yeast or belgian brewing methods. This beer could be interesting when mixed with a very strong, sweet, and rich stout such as Black Tuesday or any of the Cigar City Hunapuu's variants. Standing alone it fails as a stout or even as a uniquely flavored belgian dubble or quad.
