| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Bottle - Black, medium tan head with a hint of lacing. Nose gives cocoa, burnt/acrid malt, a hint of belgian yeast characteristics. Further sniffing reveals some fruit and alcohol, maybe a touch of smokey plastic. Flavor is rich dark malts, almost no burnt notes - instead toffee and chocolate, some very light coffee notes. Finish is more toffee than chocolate, with something that manages to remind me of powdered milk. Long, lingering cocoa/tootsie roll finish. tjthresh (1782), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown with a large, creamy tan head. Smells of light roast and coffee, just a bit o’ chocolate. Some of that Ommegang yeast too. Flavor is flat and dry chocolate (like the kid’s nestle quick), light roast, and a little metallic tasting. Not nearly what I had hoped for. At least the body is thick and creamy...
