4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malt, light char, raisin, prune, toast, toffee, earth, floral, clove, and yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with great balance, strength, and complexity of chocolate, dark malt, and fruity ester notes. Taste of cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malt, raisin, prune, caramel, toast, toffee, earth, light clove, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, toast, toffee, earth, light clove, and yeast spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of chocolate, roasted malt, and yeast ester flavors; with nice robustness; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian style ale! Great balance and complexity of chocolate, roasted, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I was disappointed in this beer. The chocolate flavor was lacking to say the least. At the bottom of my list as far as Stouts are concerned.

Pours a dark cola color with a clean water aroma mixed with a slight coco powder. Taste is a little blahand watery for a stout. Minor chocolate taste, with a very quickly dissipating aftertaste. I had high hopes for this beer but was slightly dissappointing.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep dark brown almost black. It has a nice thin tan foamy head. The aroma is roasted, almost burnt, coffee with a hint of cocoa. The taste is crisp with a rich roast coffee taste. Chocolate is more in the aroma than taste

Bottle. Dark cola colored with a big tan head. Aroma is oat and roasted malt. Not getting any chocolate. Taste adds some light hop bitterness, but again not getting any chocolate. Medium chalky palate. Not bad but it's odd to me I'm not getting the chocolate. Bad bottle perhaps?

Bottle in lieu of chocolates for Valentine’s Day. Pours dark brown with a thick, tan head and an immediate strong aroma of dark chocolate. The beer is very smooth and has almost no hint of alcohol. However, the aroma is much more complex than the taste and surprisingly the flavor was more nutty and yeasty than actual chocolate. On the other hand, beers like this get cloyingly sweet, but this was definitely not. Overall, a little thin, but enjoyable and great for the occasion.
