From a 750ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with moderately high carbonation. Aroma of the Belgian yeasts with mild chocolate notes. Very Belgian be and of course the yeasts are strong in the flavor giving it a very spicy character with notes of cinnamon and coriander. Chocolate is almost undetectable initially only showing up very slightly in the aftertaste. This beer is quite a dissapointment. Given the name, one would expect something rich, indulgent, and having strong chocolate character. Unfortunately, this is a disappointment as a stout and such a beer should have never been attempted using belgian yeast or belgian brewing methods. This beer could be interesting when mixed with a very strong, sweet, and rich stout such as Black Tuesday or any of the Cigar City Hunapuu's variants. Standing alone it fails as a stout or even as a uniquely flavored belgian dubble or quad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a pint glass and poured a dark, "chocolate-like" brown color with a slightly lighter head. This is a tasty beer. Has a non sweet chocolaty flavor with the herbal hop flavor coming in after to round out the flavor. A really good stout with a lot of drinkability.

Bottled on 8/2014. An interesting Belgium stout but not as much chocolate as expected.

Bottled 8/24/12. Poured dark with a thick foamy lacing with a cocoa aroma. Fizzy feel from the Belgium yeast pretty well balanced with a lightly chocolatey sweet finish. Not too sweet and very easy going with little alcohol burn. Great seasonal selection I had to try just finally got to it 2 1/2yrs later. Overall a must try pretty damn good sampling.

Opaque, thick lace. Medium dull body, straightforward, moderately intense taste, avg length. Malty, roast grains, not much chocolate. Ok, not exciting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
