Appearance: Handsome dark brown ale , medium creamy top. Good laced ring placed on glass. Nose : Wood scented chocolate nose , minor smoky malt hints paired together with full brown malt , light aromatic hops as background.. Very nice bouquet, Flavor/Palate : dark moist woody accents, mineral midlle , rough carbonated side of chocolate malts. Some dry roasted elements at end with soapy following. Sadly substance felt a bit thin.f-7-

Pours opaque black with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is chocolate and dark malts. Medium-bodied and smooth with flavors of chocolate, roasted malt and anise. Smooth finish with lingering chocolate malt aftertaste. Overall this beer definitely suffered a bit by being sampled after Choklit Indulgence. Decent, but not really something I would seek out again. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada

Poured dark black to brown in color with a large, dense, foamy, rocky brown head that lasted throughout. Flavor of chocolate, Belgian yeast, roasting, and alcohol. Medium to full body. Chalky texture. Average carbonation. Dryish roasted chocolate malt finish. Overall, not as good as I had hoped. Suttree (2752), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2008 Black, tan head. Smells like milk chocolate - or chocolate milk - and marshmallow and vanilla. Smooth palate, but seems a bit thin, almost a distraction. Flavor is nicely chocolate, but not over done. Hints of a fruity sweet note. Nice beer. MrRain (440), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 23, 2009 750ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. Shared this one with Kim. OCI pours black with nice yeast residue floating about. The head is large and persistent. The body is carbonated higher than is usual for a stout and the is also a bit weaker. This beer reminds me of a Baltic porter actually. The chocolate flavors are subdued. Roasted grains are more prominent. The finish is full of hops.
