COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Duvel Rustica Golden Ale is our long-anticipated collaboration with Duvel. It’s our first Belgian-style Golden Ale, a elegant ale noted for using simple ingredients to create complex flavors and aromas. We worked closely with Duvel on the recipe and processes, yet added our own signature notes. This Duvel collaboration created a fine ale, one with all the depth and breadth of Duvel’s classic Belgian Golden Ale, along with rustic notes, including fruity esters from our yeast. In keeping with our rustic farmstead roots, Rustica pours a golden hue, the aroma and flavor mixes maltiness and citrus from hops while the yeast produces notable fruitiness. The body is lean and rounded, while the finish offers dry warmth & firm hop bitterness.

750mL bottle, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma of cereal malts, crackers, some hoppy bite and Belgian yeast. Flavour brings out rustic farmhouse notes, a touch of banana, Belgian yeast and a hoppy bite. Really well-balanced, finishing on notes of cracker and a hoppy bite. Highly drinkable and thirst-quenching. I prefer this to regular Duvel. Excellent stuff.

Bottle pours a straw yellow hint of orange barely. White head carb bubbles flow freely from base of glass. Smell taste heavy yeast. Bit lemon. Alcohol is noticeable in taste and smell just behind the yeast. Bitter. Bit funky with soap taste. Not a bad beer fresh would do well in fall spring or summer just a bit off putting by the soap flavor.

Draft @ 800° Three Fires. Sweet bready malt, Belgian yeast, and floral hops aroma. Clear gold with a small white head. Sweet fruity banana, musty, light spice flavor, and honey and alcohol flavor as it warmed. Medium body, soft carbonation

This is close, but not quite there. Has some subtle off flavors that resemble stale plastic, soap, and wet dog. Other than that, it has some nice flavors of citrus, bubblegum, and alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

THOUGHTS: One of the best examples ever of how a yeast truly defines a beer ad its style. If it wasn’t written all over the bottle, I never would have guessed it was based on Duvel . I guess it also proved a great base beer can make many great beers. This one proved that in another place and time Duvel might have been somewhere between a Saison and a cali-belgizue pale ale of cail-belgo tripel. SIMPLY BRILLIANT. Way softer carbonatoin thena true Duvel and less prolific head. Probably the best tasting beer I had, had in a few months. Hid alc fairly well, too. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy, light to medium yellow that at times looked almost slightly neon. It also had an average, white head that mostly diminished and left barely fair lacing. The aroma had moderate to heavy light-colored bread, pale malt and cracker; light to moderate floral, perfume, herbal, and grassy hops; lighter citrus hops; heavy doughy, earthy and funky yeast; and other citrus. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and acidic, and slightly bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and bitter, and slightly sour with a fairly long duration. There was pale malt, lemon, cracker, light bread, grassy, herbal, perfume, floral hops, earthy and lightly funky yeast, cracker, spicy yeast and doughy yeast. The medium to full body was fort of creamy and then very dry with soft but tingly carbonation and a slightly astringent, lightly alcoholic and very dry finish.

Cloudy orangey gold, with a big white head. Smells clean, soapy (in a good way), and floral. Perhpas a tad grassy, too. Nice mix of grassy hops and subtle sweet malts. Dry, woody finish. I get some honey and other sweet flavors as it warms..Nice beer...

Pours a clear golden orange from the bottle with fluffy white head that leaves light lacing. Aroma and taste of bready melt and slight Belgian yeast, kind of like an English. Pretty decent.

Interesting beer that combines characteristics of both breweries. A fruity sweetness that has lots of apples combined with a heavy triple like flavor with some light skunky grassy flavors. Interesting and I liked it.

Tap at Busters. Slightly hazy yellow pour with a clingy pure white head. Nose is yeast and citrus. Soft and delicate. Smooth palate with just a touch of hop edge. Wonderful Belgian ale.
