3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Starts with an earthy aroma, pours a clear light yellow with a towering white head. The flavor is light, with earthy notes, more bitterness then I expected, and a touch of light fruit. Very light on the palate, with a lingering earthy bitterness. This is an interesting one, not sure Iíll pick it up regularly, but itís a decent change of pace.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle split with Devin at Erawan. Pours cloudy gold with a little white head and lacing. Nose of sweet malts, bread and honey. Does not taste like 8.5% not as boozy as Duvel. Sweet malt and honey, mild citrus, some spice and funk from the yeast.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Finally something from Ommegang that isnt overrated. Pours clear orange. Medium to high carbonation. Floral hops, light brett and spice in aroma. Taste has a nice tang and leaves with a touch sour and bitter. Nice, balanced beer. Tap at Slows.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft. Aroma is very apple and yeast. The appearance is a hazy golden. The taste is of crisp apple that rolls into a light, fruity yeast flavor. The palate is nice. Overall, a refreshing beer that would be good for summer. Would buy on draft, but prolly not bottled.

750 ml. corked and caged bottle. Pours a medium poorly retained, white, tiny bubbled head, over a slightly hazy, yellow (SRM 3), effervescent body....nose is pils malt, light pear apple....taste is light pear, apple, light cereal, leading to a peppery, bitter hop finish, finishing dry....mouth feel medium, minimally astringent, slight alcohol warmth, carbonation adds a foamy spritzy texture. The aromas, flavors and mouth feel of this beer are absolutely spot on for the style. This is no surprise as both Duvel and Ommegang are excellent breweries. The rapidly collapsing head, with minimal lacing is the only flaw. Maybe a slightly different hop or malt bill would change the head/lacing, or perhaps my glass has some fatty acids on it.
