2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pale golden orange color with a big white head. Nice yeasty nose, plenty of pear and apple, some coriander spiciness, and a bready malt base. Hints of alcohol and citrus zest. The flavor is a little boozy and phenolic. Spicy, some coriander, and a bit of apple and pear ester. Somewhat chalky on the finish. Sweet bread, pale malt, and sugar. Meh at best.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy tan...certainly doesn’t have that Duvel head, aroma is appetizing, with sweet honey, some gentle spiciness, yeast complexity. The taste...I’m not sure this follows through. The orangey character is there but muted, the malts pushed more to the fore and are sweeter and the alcohol is Duvel-like but it doesn’t work as well with the hop dryness. Does not compare well to Duvel and only okay as a strong Belgian golden.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL bottle, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma of cereal malts, crackers, some hoppy bite and Belgian yeast. Flavour brings out rustic farmhouse notes, a touch of banana, Belgian yeast and a hoppy bite. Really well-balanced, finishing on notes of cracker and a hoppy bite. Highly drinkable and thirst-quenching. I prefer this to regular Duvel. Excellent stuff.
