Nothing is more evocative of summer than the beautiful aroma of flowers, and the favored flowers of brewers are hops. Our brand new summer ale, Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers), is brewed to bring the many elements of summer into a refreshing and easy-to-drink Belgian-style ale. Fleur de Houblon is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from both primary and secondary fermentation with our unique Ommegang house yeast.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2016 Tap in pint glass at redmonds in Chicago. Hazy gold with white head. Smells flowery with some yeast funk. Syrupy flower taste . Waxy mouthfeel with sweetness, but not too overwhelming. Yeasty funk with waxy sweetness lingers. It?s pretty decent, even though it?s below the standard ommegang. Updated after tasting at brewery : much fresher tasting and much better.

Pint at Redmonds in Chicago. Really good value at $3.50. Aroma is super heavy on floral characteristics. Very little head. Light golden and cloudy. Leans on hops but carries the Belgian pale ale torch well. Citrus notes. Refreshing. Actually a really nice beer for the summer. Fleurthy of another try.

Clean, lemony/malt aroma from a pale yellow body with a fluffy white head. Very much in the Saison style with hay dryness and sweet/sour lemon with a Brett bite. Good fresh grain taste with that farmhouse character. A refreshing, delicious, easy to drink summer ale.

Thanks HisBoyElroy. It pours bright yellow with a foamy head. A decent fresh springy aroma. Very carbonated and airy. Good summer beer. Just not much flavor and a little too off on the mouthfeel for me.

Poured into a trappist glass, a hazy golden yellow with a large long lasting white fluffy head. Aroma is of ripe fruit, Belgian yeast, light floral notes. Taste is of ripe fruit, pears, some mild spiced fruity notes, a bit of sweet alcohol, yeast. Palate is crisp medium body with lively carbonation which sits well on the palate. The finish is ripe fruit of pears, mild spice fruit notes, Belgian yeast, has a slight dry sweet alcohol ending with mild bitterness. Overall a very good, flavorful and pleasant drinking brew.

Bottle... Poured cloudy, pale, golden-amber with a thick, retaining white head. Aroma of floral, grassy hops with yeast spicing. Full mouthfeel, a little drying, zesty spicing from bot hops and Belgian yeast tones. Light honeydew, grass, and vanilla. Hints of wheat and grains to settle this one out.

This ale has the "glow" of hops around it, from its soft yellow and orange hues to the creamy, bitter palate. Somewhat earthy but with intense fruit and lemon and herbal notes. Really complex and well-finished.
