COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing is more evocative of summer than the beautiful aroma of flowers, and the favored flowers of brewers are hops. Our brand new summer ale, Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers), is brewed to bring the many elements of summer into a refreshing and easy-to-drink Belgian-style ale. Fleur de Houblon is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from both primary and secondary fermentation with our unique Ommegang house yeast.

Clear golden with a generous foamy white head. Nose has a lot of yeasty peppery esters, with a backing aroma of Saaz hops and brie cheese. Flavor is peppery and grassy at the start with a clean but assertive Saaz hops and pale cereal tone, relinquishing into a semi-dry and clean biscuity malt and dusty finish. Ends with a quiet grassy/peppery hop twang. Very nice.

On draft. Pours a hazy, very pale golden with a thin eggshell head that leaves some spotty lace. Nose involves soft floral notes, spice, belgian yeast, dust, and honey. Fairly sweet flavor, lightly tart, with a fair bitterness. Lighter side of medium bodied, slightly oily and syrupy, pretty actively carbed and tingly, with drying long yeasty spice finish. An enjoyable brew, nice balance of complexity and refreshment.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours translucent gold with a 3 finger foamy white head. Aroma is fruity esters with a hint of a tripel ale. Maybe it’s all the same. As the foam recedes it smells much like a very floral tripel. Med body or better. Flavor is surprisingly light - not much like a tripel now - there’s fruit ester, and some very earthy floral hop. Even getting a little bubble gum. Complex for a "light" ale. Finishes dry and earthy.

Bottle shared thanks to stevencon! Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with lots of fluffy white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, chalkiness, and grass. Taste follows, floral notes from the hops, slightly bitter. Not too bad.

Bottle. Straw beer with a big off-white head. Yeast and citrus aroma. Yeast and citrus flavor with light earthiness. Medium bodied. Citrus and yeast linger with light spice.

Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a nice ivory head. Sweet fruit, mostly apple and pear, dominates the aroma, which has a malty undertone and floral hints. Flavor starts with a malty core and adds fruity, floral and subtle yeasty notes on a somewhat sweet and slightly hoppy taste. Smooth texture has OK thickness and fizz. Like flowers in your mouth? Get on the outside of a crater.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks zvikar. Cloudy blond. Vanilla hand lotion aroma then grass blades and louisa. Almond bitterness and also soapy-sweetness. Smooth, medium body, bitter yeasty finish.

Bottle at craft ale house. Pours clear yellow with a big white head, tons of carbonation in the glass. The aroma is big lemon, some spicy peppery notes, some yeast notes. The taste is light, crisp, easy to drink. The profile has lemon and orange peel. Good beer.

Bottle at home. Pour is hazy golden colored with a big white head and great lacing. Musty, peppery, grassy, somewhat doughy, straw, fruity, lemon peel, citrusy, and honeycomb aroma. Taste is earthy, bright, floral, clean and crisp. Other fruity notes, lemons, hibiscus, clove, pepper, grass, biscuit, crackers and dough with a dry spicy finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Very crisp, floral, yet clean and flawless. There is this noble hop like characteristic that makes it so bright and easy to drink yet the Belgian yeast adds so many layers of complexity. Really nice stuff.
