Nothing is more evocative of summer than the beautiful aroma of flowers, and the favored flowers of brewers are hops. Our brand new summer ale, Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers), is brewed to bring the many elements of summer into a refreshing and easy-to-drink Belgian-style ale. Fleur de Houblon is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from both primary and secondary fermentation with our unique Ommegang house yeast.

Crisp yellow pour with thick white foamy head. Smells of summer. Floral and fruity. Taste is similar but with a bitter bite. Crisp and refreshing. Great summer ale ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had it at the Chicago Craft Beer Festival 6/22/13. Poured a clear yellow head with a flowery aroma and a hop yeast flavor.

Bottles from Craft and Capone’s. Pours chill hazy deep golden with 1-finger white clingy head. Nose is great: funky yeasty fruit, apricot, pear, plus spicy florals, white pepper. Tastes very floral, with well integrated white peppery spice, hops, piney citrus, and a funky, yeasty, smooth finish. This oe is top notch.

Slightly hazy golden pour with medium sized off white head. Aroma is mainly floral hops, yeast and a bit of ripe fruit. Taste of malts, spice, yeast, slight sweetness and a bitter hop finish. Nice carbonation and full bodied.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of floral hops, a light spice note from the yeast, plus a nice light malt character. Flavor the same with a good hoppiness. Average texture. Definitely an appropriate beer for summer days.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Citric, grassy, and yeasty, with light spices, lavender, and a nice dry and moderately hoppy finish. Quite delicious, but just a touch overcarbonated.

Draft @ Coalhouse Pizza in Stamford, CT. Pours a clear, golden body with minimal white head. This is a smooth and pillowy Belgian ale that is spicy with melon notes. Not bad.

Pours hazy and pale. The color of gentle, golden rays of sunshine. A tall billowing head of foam that falls ever so slowly and never quite leaves because of all the streaming effervescence. Leaves plenty of soapy lace and a thick cap and ring. Nose is like rain. First because there are tiny bubbles jumping out of the glass but also because it’s lush with floral and citrus perfume. There’s Belgian yeast and spice, a bit of pepper, lemon, lime and light banana. There’s a touch of clove and light green apple. The malt is pale. Cracker and light honey. Sweet and tempting alongside the fruit. Golden wheat. It drinks like the nose. Sparkling clean, and a travels the palate with style. All that fruit in perfect harmony with the spices. The yeast a touch sour, the citrus a bit tart but sweet overall, like a bushel of ripe fruits. The balance is perfection as all the aspects come together in their complexity to from a drink that is simple and pure goodness. The cracker and wheat are dry in the finish and the hops, which have been shy until just now peek their heads out. They have contributed a powerful floral perfume and in the finish they leave just a small and delicate bitter. Finishes dry.

Ommegang never fails to delight and this is a refreshing and well made summer ale that will quench your thirst and delight the palate. Elegant yet earthy. The citrus makes your mouth water and then the apple quenches your thirst. The hops are gentle to the drink and accentuate the fruit , especially the lime. Imaginative and airy.

A very nice Belgian pale. Pours a boring clear yellow with a light white head. Smells great, very floral and fruity. Taste is a fruity start, with a slightly hoppy finish. Had on tap at Library Alehouse. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
