Nothing is more evocative of summer than the beautiful aroma of flowers, and the favored flowers of brewers are hops. Our brand new summer ale, Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers), is brewed to bring the many elements of summer into a refreshing and easy-to-drink Belgian-style ale. Fleur de Houblon is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from both primary and secondary fermentation with our unique Ommegang house yeast.

From the bottle. Hazy with white head. Quite spicy and flavorful. Aroma has a bit of earthiness. Definite sharp bite, bigger than standard. Well dine.

I really light character to it with some fruitiness and a little hops. This is a very tasty and easy drinking beer

Deep and murky pour with big white head on top. Aroma of floral hop and some fruit, zest. Flavor is a bit earthy, peppery, orange peel, peach and malt now. It is light but definitely complex.

On tap, poured into a snifter. The aroma is a floral, sweet tropical note that hits the nose in abundance. It’s a clear, straw colored beer with a dense white soap head that has moderate lacing and good retention. The taste is a medium bittersweet. The medium body has an oily texture has a fuzzy carbonation with citrus and tropical fruit, and bread for flavors. The finish has a crisp spice quality, followed quickly by a sweet tropical juice (primarily pineapple) that leads to an aftertaste that’s clean with a faint hint of some bread.

I had it from the bottle. The aroma is floral hops. The taste is hops, Belgian yeast, spice, and a touch of citrus. It’s dry and crisp. This was nice and refreshing, until it warmed. It’s a complex summer beer without being filling.

Bouteille b.b. 03.2016. Une robe jaune trouble. Le premier nez est superbe, invitant avec du blé. La bouche est herbeuse avec des notes de poussière. J’aurais aimé plus de définition dans cette bière qui me semble brouillonne. Merci Vincent pour cette dégustation.

Very nice beer: cloudy effervescent pour. Fragrant floral hops aroma laced with citrus. Bone dry on the palate, lingering aftertaste. Refreshing drink on a hot afternoon, but light on the mouth feel and a little unsatisfying finally.

Fruity, floral aroma. Golden hazy color with frothy white head. Fair retention. Soft clean palate. Dry finish. Softer earthy, floral, and fruity flavors than aroma would lead you to believe which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Solid overall.

Draft at Moriartys. Hazy gold pour with a karge fizzy/foamy white head. Lots of carbonation. Very strong citrus floral flavors: Tangerine peels. Chanterelle mushrooms. Orange marmalade. Cilantro. Rosewater. Lavender. Potpourri. Some yeasty/bready notes: Sourdough. Buttered croissants. Honeycomb. Touch sweet but a very dry finish: White peppercorns. Astringent oak tannins. Lemon pith. Appreciate that this is just marketed as a "Belgium Ale" and not a Saison because it otherwise too bold and fruity. Taken as is - it works.
