COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing is more evocative of summer than the beautiful aroma of flowers, and the favored flowers of brewers are hops. Our brand new summer ale, Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers), is brewed to bring the many elements of summer into a refreshing and easy-to-drink Belgian-style ale. Fleur de Houblon is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from both primary and secondary fermentation with our unique Ommegang house yeast.

12oz bottle. Hazy straw body topped by large white head. Aroma is medium sweet, straw, some white pepper, lemon. Taste is moderately sweet, straw, some lemon, light spicy, white pepper. Light-medium body, some effervescence, alcohol well masked -- if the ABV was lower, I could see making this a session beer. Alas, no such luck.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours translucent gold with a 3 finger foamy white head. Aroma is fruity esters with a hint of a tripel ale. Maybe it’s all the same. As the foam recedes it smells much like a very floral tripel. Med body or better. Flavor is surprisingly light - not much like a tripel now - there’s fruit ester, and some very earthy floral hop. Even getting a little bubble gum. Complex for a "light" ale. Finishes dry and earthy.

Bottle. Poured cloudy yellow color with an average to large frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy floral, fruit and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a friend.
