COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration with HBO for the Game of Thrones series.

Blonde ale with malty sweetness and a touch of fruity spiciness, Noble Hops aromas and notes of citrus. Suitable to serve to kings, or pretenders to the iron throne.

Pour slowly so as to not disturb the yeast sediment, but with enough vigor to create a luxurious head and release the rich bouquet.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is funky and fruity. Flavor is spicy, a little tart with some biscuit dry maltyness and a bit of green hops and Belgian fruity esters. Finish is very dry with a nice citrus fruit and chalky malts. This beer is getting crazy high ratings. While tasty and good I don’t thing this is in the 4 range. Not enough of the Belgain herbal/yeastyness came thorugh. I have never seen this t.v show so I don’t know what this beer has to do with it.

On draft at Blue Monkey. Nice notes of fruit, spice and pepper. I did detect a bit of hop, which I always like, and a nice citrus / peppery pop at the finish. Very Good.

On tap, pours a golden color with a thick white head that leave good to great lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast, lemon, sweet malt and grass. Tastes of all the same things. As it warms the flavors come out better. Mouthfeel is watery and slightly chewy with a slight dryness. Overall it was pretty good but it was definitely overpriced. I paid $12.00 for the pint at a geek bar called the AFK Tavern. It’s probably one of the only kegs in Washington but $12 a pint! Come on!, guess I should have asked how much it was before it was poured lol. Not bad but overhyped for the price. I have a bottle I’m aging we’ll see how it turns out aged.

Really nice. Pours slightly cloudy straw with a pillowy head and some lacing. Notes of fruit, cereal, lemon and a slight spicy hint. Lively carbonation makes it quite aggressive in the mouth.

750 ml. bottle. Pours golden with a massive white head. Wheat and clove aromas are dominant. Taste is floral, citrus, banana and spice. Nice hoppy finish. This is good stuff!

Bottle. Poured clear golden color with an average to large frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy wheat, citrus and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderate to long duration. I would recommend this to a friend.

Pours fantastic. Light straw yellow, turbid, hazy and with a fluffy white head of foam that never fell off completely. Left plenty of soft lace all over the glass. Champagne bubbles too, this is visual perfection. Nose is superb. Belgian yeast, tart lemon, floral and earthy. A touch of banana, bubblegum, clove, those grains of paradise and underneath- good bread and soft malt sweetness. So perfectly light. It’s buoyant on the palate. All components have a brightness of character that is full but never maxed out. Taste is smooth, bubblegum and sweet bread. Malt is no stranger in this drink. It’s flavorful but delicate. Leaves just dry with a hint of hop oil bitter to make your mouth water and a lingering sweetness.

This is a visually stunning ale that is soft and silky and drinks like it was made to be drunk. It’s Belgian spice character that doesn’t overwhelm with the sheer number of things, it’s hops that aren’t blown all out of proportion & sweet malt at it’s full and subtle best. Ommegang treats you to some finesse with this one.

750 cc from Capone’s and Craft Ale House. Pours turbid dark straw..pretty deep golden with 1-finger frothy white head and a lot of carbonation. Nose is floral yeasty spice, white pepper, limey citrus, noble hops. Tastes dry, floral, spicy, with hopcitrus, more dry floral fruity yeasty notes as it warms, and a lot of complexity. This is one of my favorite Ommegang beers.

Draft at craft ale house. Pours hazy orange with a medium sized white head. The aroma has a bit of funk, yeast, very saison like. The taste is mostly dry, light banana, slight fruit. Nice brew.
