COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration with HBO for the Game of Thrones series.

Blonde ale with malty sweetness and a touch of fruity spiciness, Noble Hops aromas and notes of citrus. Suitable to serve to kings, or pretenders to the iron throne.

Pour slowly so as to not disturb the yeast sediment, but with enough vigor to create a luxurious head and release the rich bouquet.

Draft at Stag’s Head. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma was sort of absent on this beer, some slight hops, floral notes and citrus, but not much. Taste is slightly citrus, spice and wheat. Finishes fairly clean on the palate. Overall, I thought this was a little bland and dissapointing. I usually really like Ommegang’s offerings but this was on the weaker side. A dissapointment.

Pours clear golden orange with a small white head. The nose is peppery, citrus, ginger and some bready notes. The taste is high sweet and low medium bitter. Body is heavy and finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a smallish white head. Nose has a little bit of citrus in there with some subtle hints of spices in there. Taste has just a hint of citrus in there with a bit of wheat. Not as bad as I had feared. Much better, in fact.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Light citrus and yeast aroma with malt. Summer fruit and yeast flavor with light graininess. Medium bodied. Summer fruit and yeast linger with light spice.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2013 750 ml corked bottle. Pours a mostly clear straw yellow color with a big pillowy head that fades slowly, leaves lots of lacing. Aromas are lemons, biscuits, wet grass, cloves, black pepper, and some Belgian funk. Taste is decent, very lemony and spicy. Nice light fruity sweetness. Slightly tart in the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit foamy from the high carbonation. Overall, its decent but not really the kinda beer I like to drink very often. I only bought this because I love the show and wanted the bottle.

Big bottle shared with the table during our dinner at Publican in Chicago. Hazy golden body with a generous bubbly white head. Lovely fruity tart profile here, guava and light lemon, nice clean biscuity malts. Very refreshing, and paired very well with our heavy charcuterie meal.

Pours a hazy bright yellow with fizzy head that dissipates quickly leaving decent lacing. Sweet aroma of fruit with some spiciness and a bit of funk. Taste is fruity with clove spiciness and a slight phenolic note. Finishes with a pear taste. Mouthfeel is medium with a high carbonation. Nice example of the style but nothing really outstanding. ---Jeremy H

2013 bottle to a snifter. Hazy straw yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is a funky, spicy smell. Taste is complex with fruit and spices abounding. Start with a mild sweetness that develops into a spiciness and then ends with a slight saltiness on the tongue. Light medium mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A hazy orange color with a good amount of white head. Smells of barnyard funk, chemical like someone getting a perm, lemon. The funk comes through in the taste with some fruit, lemon, spice, clove. Ends with some fruit sweetness, pear, lemon. Not my favorite style but a good representation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap: hazy pale yellow with large white head. Aroma is light with yeast, spicy hops, some grass, and a bit of bubble gum. Flavor is lemon peel, honey, pepper and a mild yeast funk. Nothing stands out but nice flavor and easy drinking.
