3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a nice thick off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light spicy rye notes with some caramelized malt notes is OKish. Taste is also dominated by spicy rye notes with some caramelized malt notes. Body is about average with good carbonation doesn’t’ really stand out and chilies notes are way too subtle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014, grand tasting 10/08/2014 Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell. Huge thanks to Ken for this one. Caramel / orange coloured pour with a lasting big off white head. Slight haze. Aroma is mineral, sweaty caramel and some earthy honey malts. Flavour is composed of honey, caramel malts with Belgian yeast notes. Slight earthy finish. Palate is sweet, sticky, highly carbonated, medium bodied.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Cloudy raisin colour, some orange red at the edges. Large shaving cream head. Dusty, dried fruit aroma. Dusty taste, some spicy tang, not a lot of sweetness. Overall, something different.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
APPEARANCE - great looking ale - definitely fits red ale expectations, but also is fairly cloudy. Solid white head.
NOSE - definite Belgian notes, but lite.
FLAVOR - Where's the ANCHO!?!?! Has good Belgian beer flavor, but I get ZERO ancho, and very little red.
NOTES - I'd like the beer better if it were claimed to be a Belgian that's colored like a red ale. It's good, but not what it advertises.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very attractive deep red with small ivory head that I would’ve liked to see stick around a bit longer before receding to a soapy film. Not getting a lot in the aroma except a little funk and malt. Very strong and reasonably sweet malt backbone. Nice floral hop profile with a lot of citrus too. Delivers a really enjoyable dry and bitter finish with some lingering sweetness. Light to medium bodied and spicy on the tongue. Another impressive beer from ommegang.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2014-10-11. Brown body with a modest beige head and some floating particles. 3+ Modest alcohol in aroma, dark malt, bit of a bite to it. Flavour is similar, sweet malt core, light bitterness and alcohol bite, yeast. Okay, but disappointingly average. Decent but the parts don’t quite come together for me today.
