COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire & Blood is a 6.8% ABV Red ale, brewed with pilsner, Cara-60, Midnight Wheat, flaked rye and spelt. Assertive hopping includes CTZ, Styrian Golding and German Tettnang hops. Spiced with de-seeded Ancho chilies. Fire & Blood has a deep, dark red hue with a persistent, creamy, off-white head. Aromas of ripe fruit, raisins, malt & slight spice, followed by a slightly floral and spicy hop character. A fruity, sweetish malt taste gives way to faint drying provided by the hops & rye.

Liked this a lot. Sweeter than I thought it would be. Great malt character, wheaty. Not sure where the heat is, unless it was just with the tempering of the sweet fruit notes. Slight rye spiciness. Fun label, fun beer.

(Rating #6086)

If you’re looking for peppers in this one; good luck. More like a wheat beer with earthy hop finish.

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 Sunday tasting at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell. Pours clear amber-gold with a white cream head. Yeast-forward, with rich lightly toasted bread, candi sugar. Faint plastic and bitter grain husk. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish with further yeast and grain husk. So so. I’ve had much better from Ommegang.

Pours semi clear(with some yeast or hops suspended) reddish brown with a massive off white head and tons of lace. Aroma is malty, caramel, grainy, fruity, floral and some moderately spicy Belgian yeast. Flavour is malty, caramel, brown sugar, caramel, spicy Belgian yeast, mild spicy bready rye, mild bitterness, and kinda grainy. Really tasty.

[6843-20141011] Bottle. Mild grainy floral aroma. Hazy, dark brown body with a huge long-lasting foamy tan head and some floaties. Grainy floral flavour has a long aftertaste. Medium-full body is a little boozy. Good, like a weak Dubbel? (7/3/8/4/15) 3.7

~Aroma of red grapes, prune, raisin, spice, yeast. ~Pours a murky amberish, brownish, orange color with lasting creamy off white head. ~Spicy rye flavor, Raisin like fruitness, earthy spicy hop. ~Medium light bodied with high CO2, dry finish. Lingering spicy finish. ~Interesting and tasty beer. Glad I got to try it but wouldnt buy it again.

Pours a dark red with a thick off white head. Got the aroma nice spices and rye. The flavor has a nice balance of sweet malt, spice, and a light bitter hop bite with a nutty touch to it. Goes down real smooth with a little bitter aftertaste. Overall a worthy brew for House Targaryen. Fire and Blood!!
