Fire & Blood is a 6.8% ABV Red ale, brewed with pilsner, Cara-60, Midnight Wheat, flaked rye and spelt. Assertive hopping includes CTZ, Styrian Golding and German Tettnang hops. Spiced with de-seeded Ancho chilies. Fire & Blood has a deep, dark red hue with a persistent, creamy, off-white head. Aromas of ripe fruit, raisins, malt & slight spice, followed by a slightly floral and spicy hop character. A fruity, sweetish malt taste gives way to faint drying provided by the hops & rye.

Deep red hue with a light creamy head. Nice fruity character that finishes with a surprising amount of hoppy flavor. Doesn’t have the chili I was expecting but still an excellent beer.

RBESG 2014, Sunday tasting at Craft Clerkenwell, London. Hazy golden/amber beer with a decent offwhite head. Yeasty fruit aroma, spicy, grpaes, citrus, bready, some floral notes. Yeasty floral flavor, citrus, grapes, dandelions, some bread. Decent beer.

Bottle, from the Gibsons LDB.
Murky dark red. Aroma has more fruity acid notes than you’d expect. Malty, caramel mostly with some fruity character, and just a touch of ancho. Not entirely cohesive.

Cinnamon, red, pepper. Not spicy, more of a floral hop bitterness in the bite, but the bite is more of a nibble.

Bottle@Craft Clerkenwell (RBESG 10/08/2014) - colour is amber with with a off-white head. Sweet bready and toasty malt aroma and taste, with some dried fruits, some floral notes and light hot spice in the finish.

aroma of dark fruit and roasted malt; medium bodied with flavors of roatsed malt, dry rye manlt, and dark fruit; the ancho chilies give it some great spice notes and a hint of smoke; a nice, dry, bitter finish

Aroma: Dried fruit with deep malty aromas. Appearance: Dark mahogany with a tan head that leaves little lacing. Taste: Light sweetness balanced by hints of sourness across the tongue. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, dry finish. Overall: Not disappointing, but not mind blowing either. It’s a well-developed beer, but I’m not sure it’s worth the price. I wouldn’t seek it out again.

Bottle at Max’s. Pours a deep amber body with light ring of lacing. Aroma is pepper, spice, alcohol, grain, rye and cleaner. Mouthfeel is light to medium with abrasive burn up front, maybe alcohol - but not sure; additional notes of spice, vegetable character, malt, grain, strange boozy/rye flavor. Hot and harsh - not a fan.
