COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This delectable blonde ale is a co-creation of two famed farmstead breweries: Brewery Ommegang and Brasserie d’Achouffe. It employs five fine malts, two noble hops, and both of the distinctive Chouffe and Ommegang yeasts. You’ll enjoy the smooth drinkability, fruity aromas and flavors, and warming finish

Bottled January 24, 2013.
Appearance: The body is nearly clear with an amber hue. The head is towering with a foamy texture, but quickly settles into a sparse foamy white coating.
Aroma: The aroma hints at fruity citrus that leans a bit sweet, slight spices, and a slight earthy presence.
Taste: The intro it fruity with sweet orange that quickly leads to a sweet malt base with an overlying spice. The finish becomes a touch fruity, perhaps some banana. The spice lingers for a bit after the finish.
Palate: Thick, creamy, and sharp carbonation.
Overall: This is a solid beer, it drinks like a maltier saison. The spice is prominent, maybe a bit too much so, but I enjoy this.

Yeasty aroma with some spice. Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Slightly sweet taste, with a lingering flavor. Not very much bitterness or hop presence. The alcohol is well hidden, and there is a lot of fruity flavors. Not a bad beer at all.

Brouwerij (407) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 15, 2013
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden straw with a finger of coarse white head. Settles very quickly with minimal lacing. Aroma is fruity, banana, doughy, chouffe yeast. Flavor is sweet, banana, apple, with caramel, malty, bread finish. Fruity and caramel. Alcohol is well masked behind fruity and malty tones. Moderate, fine carbonation, medium body, smooth, texture and warm but mildly dry finish. A very pleasant belgian ale, drinkable, strong, fruity, excellent.

superspak (1466) - Michigan, USA - APR 12, 2013
750 ml bottle into signature tulip glass, bottled on 1/23/2013. Pours lightly cloudy golden straw color with a nice 2 finger fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with plenty of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, floral, grass, candi sugar, and earthy yeast spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy esters with moderate malt balance. Taste of big lemon, apple, pear, grape, light banana, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, candi sugar, floral, and earthy yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruits, light banana, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, candi sugar, and floral on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance and complexity of fruity/spicy esters; with a great malt/spice flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a lightly slick and very crisp mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an absolutely incredible Belgian strong pale ale! Huge balance and complexity of fruity/spicy esters with light-moderate malt sweetness; and dangerously smooth and crisp to sip on for 9.5%. An insanely delicious offering.

Citrus and bread nose. Taste is similar with somewhat of a bubblegum taste. Light hops. Light sweet finish. Nice Belgium style beer

On tap at Hops & Pie. Pour is hazy lemon with a small white head that quickly dissipated - good lacing. Yeast, clove, biscuit, pears, light pineapple, biscuit, straw, and red licorice in the aroma. Taste is yeasty, citrusy, lemon peel, biscuit, clove, somewhat bready, and a touch of vanilla. Medium body with high carbonation. Not bad.

By the third sip I was loving it. It really fills the mouth, and it’s warm and strong. The carbonation is right up front, but it’s malty and rich and just delicious. Not a lot in the aroma to set it apart from other tripels, but the flavor is enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden color with a thick white head. Smell is a little yeasty with some subtle citrus underneath. Taste is slightly sweet with just a hint of citrus on the back end. Way too much of the Belgian style that I’m not a huge fan of.

Bottle packaged 1/27/2013. Pours hazy gold capped by a thin white head. Nose of cereal grain, grass, and slight pepper. Taste is slightly sweet but is quickly washed over by the grassy hops. Yeast adds to the mix. Mouth is medium bodied but slick.

Also very full palate. Hazy yellow. Fresh bread and lots of yeast; grains of paradise. Sweet bit the alcohol is perceivable.
