COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This delectable blonde ale is a co-creation of two famed farmstead breweries: Brewery Ommegang and Brasserie d’Achouffe. It employs five fine malts, two noble hops, and both of the distinctive Chouffe and Ommegang yeasts. You’ll enjoy the smooth drinkability, fruity aromas and flavors, and warming finish

(from 2011 notes; shared bottle) A flavorful but not well crafted beer; at least the elements didn’t mesh as I would like. Disappointing given the heritage of the two breweries involved; maybe a committee decision. In any case, it is fruity and a little earthy with a tad too much spicing. The high alcohol content also was too evident.

Orange/Citrus on the nose also the same on the palate. This is a fine beer with a slightly yeasty touch to it. Nice without being great

Keg @ Sedona. Deep gold with a small head. The nose is sweet Belgian yeast. Ripe autumn fruits. Caramel. Bruised banana. The taste is sweet, bordering on sickly. Baked red apple. Honey. Pepper. Mildly toasty. Hot finish. Not nearly as delicate as the Scythe I just tried. Medium body, oily. Overall, meh.

C&C 750 mL bottle from Beer Run. Pours a very hazy orange color with a thin off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of strong yeast, big lime notes, some bready notes and caramel. The taste is yeast, bread, brown sugar, lime zest. I’m not sure why I’m getting so much lime in this beer, but I like it! Medium bodied, slight lingering spice.

hazy straw color small whispy white head. spicy grass and plentiful estery notes from the two yeast strains. enough hop presence to make this not too sweet.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy orangeish golden color with a creamy, frothy, white head that lasts with light lacing. Aroma is floral hops, sweet malts and mild pepper. The taste is a nice amount of sweet fruits, earthy hops and spices such as lemon peel, pepper and coriander. The beer is quite light, crisp and smooth with moderate carbonation and well hidden alcohol.

Served from a 750ml bottle, this ale had a yellow-gold pour with a hint of haze and gave a two to three finger white, silky, foamy head that receded to a cover and thick ring, the glass had nice spots and rings of lacing, the bottom of the bottle had a layer of light brown colored sediment, there were aromas of lemon and tart orange citrus, light malt and bread notes, faint grass and floral hops with faint orange fruit sweetness, very light spice on the nose, it had flavors of orange and pear fruit with orange and lemon citrus notes, light malt and bread, orange and bread sweetness, the finish had pepper with some spice with a little malt trailing, pepper and bitterness lingered on the palate, it was dry with a hint of malt on the tongue after the finish, the mouth feel was light and creamy with lively carbonation, this was a very good golden belgian strong ale, nice aromas and flavors, easy to drink and enjoyable.
