4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy, slightly orange, body with a large white head. The aroma is full of both fruity esters and spicy phenolic notes. There is a decent amount of floral, citrus, and earthy notes as well. Nice sweet malt, light alcohol, and a dry, abrupt finish. Well made. Quite good.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very hard to believe this is 9.5%. Comes off light, fruity, and a little tart. Malt is lightly sweet but fills the palate. Floral hops. Pear. Pepper and clove from Belgian yeast, similar to Ommegang’s usual style even though it’s not their yeast. Can’t imagine a more drinkable or refreshing beer at this ABV.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A fantastic beer and par for the course for ommegang. Golden, spicy, lots of pepper and a pleasant tropical fruit finish.

Very tasty Belgian. The yeast was well treated to generate good fruit. Malty but not too sweet. Some hops in mid sip.Smooth.

This beer was so good, it prompted me to make an account here! Deeeep complexity, powerful yeastiness topped with the perfect bite of hops. Super creamy head, earthy sweet aroma with a hint of citrus, beautiful pour. And like others have said, you’d never guess there was a 9.5 ABV hiding in there!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The ABV is well hidden behind a semi sweet and slightly spiced hop and malt profile. Banana is in the nose and Belgian yeast is evident. Hazy gold with fluffy white head.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2015 "another hit from Ommegang. This one has a vibrant fruity hoppy aroma, and a flavor to match. dry citrus abounds, and it’s incredibly drinkable. for such a strong beer, the alcohol isn’t even noticed. fruity belgian yeast esters in the finish."

Lemon like fruity esters with honey and a light spicy hop on the aroma. Light golden color with a white head with excellent head retention. Flavor is full of sweet pils and spicy hops. Bitter is medium and helps dry out the beer on the end. Typical Belgian esters are present. Mouthfeel is medium with a high level of carbonation which leads to a little acidic bite. Overall, it's a good tasting Belgian golden. My only issue is that it's a little too sweet. More bitterness is needed for balance.

Poured a hazy gold colour with a thick head and beautiful lacing. Decent fruity and yeast aroma. Very smooth and sweet taste with a thick body. A slight tangy aftertaste. Goes down easy.

Tap at Lake & Irving in a tulip glass. Deep golden and a healthy head/lacing. Expected a stronger aroma but getting mostly a faint hint of pine and a minor citrus note. Taste is extremely pleasant and greets the tongue with citrus, hops, and a slight yeast/funk. It’s a surprisingly clean beer to drink with an aftertaste that leans comfortably into the hop resin world. I would definitely hang out with this gnome...and maybe convince him to bring his Chouffe Houblon friends too.
