This delectable blonde ale is a co-creation of two famed farmstead breweries: Brewery Ommegang and Brasserie d’Achouffe. It employs five fine malts, two noble hops, and both of the distinctive Chouffe and Ommegang yeasts. You’ll enjoy the smooth drinkability, fruity aromas and flavors, and warming finish

hazy gold with hint of amber hue, quarter-inch of ivory head, medium-fine, moderate rate of decay. Aroma is chalky-fruity grass, pear, touch of strawberry, sweet wheat. Body is syrupy-starchy, a bit gritty, moderate weight. medium-light carbonation. moderate coarseness, medium-light soft burn. Flavor is spicy sweet wheat, touch of bitter grass that doesn’t linger, hearty balanced malt sweetness, some chalky, phenolic yeast (Ommegang’s varietal!) Overall, a nice BLSA, highlight is the Ommegang yeast, but nothing new here. Not worth the 17$ - yikes!

Good resemblance of a stronger blonde-farmhouse ale. Grassy, earthy, and wheat flavors. Mildly hopped. Semi-cloudy, medium pale yellow appearance. Alcohol bite hidden somewhat for 9.5%. Not quite my style, but definitely worth the try.

Pour on tap at Happy Gnome, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought lots of white fruit with white grape, pear, some slight peach into some yeasty spice, pepper, some clove into a bit of orange, touch of biscuit. Taste was the same, nice orange, grapefruit, white grape into some slight pear, some clove, spice, and yeasty into a bit of biscuit, pepper, finishing dry, slightly sweet.

Bottle: Pours a nice bright clear golden color with a big white head on it. Aromas are fruity and honey. Smells like spring. Taste is sweet, with a nice acidic-like Belgian finish that leaves you wanting another sip. This beer is a wonderful warm weather beer, but is as equally at home on a cold night when you are looking for something clean and refreshing.

Pours a hazy orange with a huge head of large bubbles, lots of carbonation. Aroma is clove, banana, orange fruit, coriander, honey, yeast, hops. Taste is honey, clove, orange, coriander, hops, and a great strong malt/yeast finish that warms with the 9.5% ABV. Great beer, easy to drink despite the high ABV.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. The best buy date is smudged but it looks like sometime in 2016. Hazy yellow pour with a modest white head. The aroma is spiced with coriander, pepper. pear, and apple with a mild alcohol bite. But it smells fantastic. The body is medium to full and warming on the throat. The taste is rambunctious with that same yeasty, toasty, bready malt character offset by a peppery, spicy bitterness to the finish.
